Bypass valve not making noise?

I'm new to the turbo stuff and I just picked this car up yesterday. It builds boost, but there is no noise from the bypass valve when I let off the gas. What could this mean?

What it means is that it's most likely functioning the way its designed to. A BPV recirculates the air versus venting it to the atmosphere like a BOV.

If your car is building and holding boost in between gear changes then your turbo system is working normally.

Thank you. I was just concerned because I saw some videos of them stock and they make a bit of noise.

Mine makes a little turkey call, but it's not loud.

Congrats on the new ride! Now go hit some corners. (nana)

I assumed that you were listening to audio clips of blowoff valves. If your MSP has a short ram intake or a cold air intake then you will clearly hear what we call the turkey. If not and you listen carefully you can pick it up faintly when you rapidly change gears. You can eliminate that sound if you like or add a BOV to your set up for a different sound of air being vented. Just comes down to personal tastes.
