lol, nice,, well i c theri a hole lot of hating going on so im done with this thread,, but if your still undecided, if your building the car more for track purposes, then it would prob be best going with a bigger turbo just cause you dont really need to worry about spool time at the track, but if you want a good street car then its all about spool time, therefore the 28 would be your best bet, but on the other hand a bigger turbo would allow you to keep out of boost alot more on the street so youd get better everyday driving mpg's.. either way id do meth so its safer. good luck with it man, either way the car is going to move..

Bleed down compression test. Cylinders holdin 85% compression. Hopin to come out around 3 grand for everything. Gettin quotes next week

Cp-e nano short ram and turbo inlet, ngr type-s bpv, cobb front mount, mr. lil guy fuel pump, turbo xs tbe, one step colder plugs (big deal right), and a full accessport tune by surgeline tuning runnin 19psi. Weird cuz i don't smoke at idle only in higher gears when i hit boost and let off the throttle. But i jumped on the dyno at surgeline the other day did a pull in 4th and filled the place with smoke. They gave me a difinitive your turbo is ****** lol

I am now. However when i put my exhaust intercooler etc on i wasn't cuz they werent around til fairly recently. John at ptp said clylinder 1 cracking is becoming more and more common
 
Sorry I'm jumping into this conversation real late, and wished I owned a ms3, but me entering college and a whole mess of future debt to student loans won't permit me. Anyway, my buddy lost 2 stock turbos on his completly stock ms3 out of just bad luck so don't beat yourself up. People at the local Mazda Dealership have admitted to us Mazda went "kinda cheap...really cheap" on recent cars which I beleive was recently stated and went on to say that in his opinion the ms3 comes pretty muched maxed out already stock. Anyway if I can give my two-cents on turbo advice, I'd go with the GT28 you don't need anything bigger for a dd. anyway gl and I wish you the best.

P.S. I would also invest in an AEM meth kit if I were you. It made all the difference on my car and other close friends of mine, and the installation wasn't very hard to do either.

The argument on this thread has been squashed, why the **** you coming out and talking now. Childish gibberish not constructive to the subject of the thread, IMHO. Sort of like bragging "my dick is bigger than your dick so that makes me smarter and more believable." No cred points for that.

Op nailed it - he ran high boost untuned for over a year. Gradual, progressive damage leading to a final catastrophic failure. He's going to rebulld and go forged so he can run that high boost safely. Presumably that will mean connecting rods with more beef around the wrist pin. Sounds like the best way to make lemonade out of lemons, so to speak.
