I was involved in a car accident two Fridays ago where I hit a car that ran a stop sign. The body shop called me today and said repairs would cost $8,000 on a car my insurance company valued at $12,000 and they're not done! In all likelihood, my car will be totaled. My next car will not be a Mazda because the company screwed me over on a warranty issue.

no witnesses huh. where did you hit him or vice versa. if he had the stop and you didn't he has to yeild to you, reguardless.

My friend was in a car ahead of me. Someone else behind me saw it happen but I didn't get their information.

I hit him head on, right on his left rear fender. The wheel was bent at a 45 degree angle.

That's BS, if you had that much damage to your car then either he ran the stop sign, or you did. It would be relatively easy to prove, I am sure yours and their insurance companies will find out for you.
Glad you are okay. Pictures of the damage would be cool.

No, I don't want a VW. I'm not even in the mood to shop for a new car. I'll probably just use my mom's 92 Accord till I graduate.

Well, the insurance company told me through my attorney that the damage will cost $7000 to repair. So it's not totaled after all. I'm happy, but I don't know if my car will ever feel the same again.

i feel for you man .. bad accidents like this suck ass

id rather have a car totaled or stolen that deal with patching it up .. then you have to line with it knowing it wasnt your fault
