Well, I'm taking my car in tommorow for what will hopefully be the last bushing replacement. They are replacing my bushings with the new part (BN7H-28-156C, compared to the old 156B). They will also be looking at my transmission linkages and draining the fluid to check for metal in case it is seriously messed up.
The chief mechanic there said that before the MP3s/P5s came, they never had a single complaint with the manual tranny in the Protege. He also had MSP training in Shaumberg, IL yesterday and mentioned that the tranny was well capable of handling over 200HP from initial tests in the Mazdaspeed.
I'm not entirely convinced I even have a problem with my tranny. I think I just miss a shift sometimes (1st to 2nd grind), but I figure if I've done any damage, I might as well get it fixed.
I'll let you know what they find!
