Broke BC racing coilover's endlink tab

:
2003 Protege ES-T
yeah passenger rear. let the pics speak for themselves. I had to drill a hole and install the AWR endlinks which are shorter than the stockers. so now my swaybar is at like a 45 degree angle with the wheels on the ground. at least it handles good. now i gotta try to get in contact with BC about a replacement.

yes, because i wouldn't be able to use the stock endlinks without it twisting the bar like ******* crazy, one endlink is longer than the other to keep the bar straight. s*** it might even be stronger where i drilled the hole.

i drilled the hole right behind where the brake line is covering the tab on the 3rd pic.

either way i gotta buy longer AWR endlinks because the ones i got are way to short at their longest. i am worried there wont be enough threaded in there to last that long. i don't like the angle of the bar where it is now for daily driving, i think it's putting a lot of stress on the tabs when i corner hard because the bar doesn't have much to rotate before being straight up. not so good for potholes

i can't really say when, i had a friend and a brother in my car and we were late to the movies. lol. there was a crazy hill pulling into the parking lot that i took at a big angle. but i noticed the "clunk" earlier that day, but it was horrible after leaving the movie theater.

i still think it's from the excessive angle of the sway bar. and going over potholes, speedbumps or driveways at an angle where it loads only one rear wheel at a time might be what broke it since the bar cant rotate anymore.

right now, isince my car isn't really that low i've just decided to bear with scraping and going over everything as straight as i can to keep both rear wheels even.

i still have to contact BC about this. hopefully they will send me just the lower bracket wthout me sending the old one first because i can't have any downtime with my car.

haha s***, no i still have to email BC about it. since i drilled the hole i havn't had a problem since, so i keep forgetting about it.

Here's the strange response I got from Import Image racing just now.

how would the coilovers cause the endlink to come off? endlink is attached to sway bar...

I'll give BC racing a call tomorrow.

yeah and than the endlink is connected to the coilover.

BC should definitely cover this under warranty

Sounds like my POS Ksports. It bent my stock front links.

I hope your ride is okay.

Not really...The endlink ended up hitting the goodyear braided line so hard that it started to leak break fluid. My break reservior went from full to below min in one day. Now my car is stuck at the mechanics and I have no way to get to work today.

old bump, but this has now happened to me twice. sucks because I have track day next saturday, so hopefully I can get this squared away by then

So the bracket that holds the endlink broke off? Huh. Thats weird.

Ya..going up ramps at an insane angle would kill that tab. I've broken the swaybar bracket before going down a ramp where i was 3 wheelin'. I had 5 passengers, and BAM..the bracket just snapped. I'm talkin about the bracket that bolts on to the rear subframe.

Dang it! I just ordered some last week! I did read that other coilovers have had the same problem. I wonder if it's something that can be remedied before it happens... I don't wanna even install until I know for sure. Anyone know what I can do to avoid wrecking my new shocks?

I have a hard time believing it would break off. The tab is pretty beefy. Looks solid to me. Hopefully this doesnt happen to me.
