They look nice, that's about it lol. Anyone who thinks they are getting any HP out of the 1.8 conversion is off their meds

good to know haha. i'll probably just end up replacing my coilpacks then.

So i've been out of town for almost 2 weeks and I've been dieing to drive my car.... Before I left i started stripping the interior by removing the rear seats. I'm gonna see how much I can remove while still keeping everything looking "nice".

Ordered some new brackets and polyurethane bushings from energy suspension to replace the cracked rubber ones on my progress swaybar. also ordered some 2.5" piping and a resonator to fab up a straight pipe exhaust. I was really surprised how cheap everything came out to on Jegs, not to mention the free shipping is really nice.

Also planning on doing a canyon run through Ortega hwy with my buddy's new brz next week if anyone wants to join us let me know!

Does this mean I can have your exhaust? ;D

It is? That tip looks huge : \
I may be interested though yes....

I never really did want anything too aggressive. Just pretty with a little growl.

(I swear my girlfriend didn't make me say that...)

haha alright i'll let you know when it gets taken off.

yea it's the already "shortened" axleback from mazdaspeed. i'm pretty sure it's the same as the 03 msp one. it's quieter than the ebay catback, but the quality is a lot better. lol luckily my girlfriend doesnt mind how loud it is.

LOL! will do

question, how in the world did you get your mazdaspeed lip on i swear mine refuses to go back on

just bolted up the studs on the back of the "scoops" (there should be 3 studs) to the foglight buckets.

just made them myself. I have some extra ones, pm me if you want a set. thanks man! that's awesome! :)

I hate you so much Brian.

This straight pipe exhaust that you plan on doing, Does this mean you're going to need to delete the second O2 sensor? Won't that throw a CEL code?
I looked up some Protege/Protege5's with straight pipes and, ****.

lol thanks buddy ;). for now i'm planning on keeping the stock midpipe and cat. after the cat will be 2.5" resonator and 2.5" piping all the way back under-axle. When i do get around to doing the whole exhaust i'll just weld on another 02 bung and run a defouler to avoid the CEL. hopefully after i save up more cash i'll be able to find a corksport or pope downpipe and then i'll add a catless midpipe. it would be cool to have it turn out similar to simon's p5 http://vimeo.com/48697843

small update:

Ended up replacing my coil packs due to a lumpy idle. After replacing them i found it was just a vacuum leak lol...

I'll be picking up a welder in a couple weeks to finally get started on my exhaust.

I also got tired of the factory silver interior accents so I decided to wrap a few parts in vinyl. I'll get a few more shots of the panels installed tomorrow.

a few updates

9LyJ6cR.jpg

had to get the p5 towed last week due to a ruptured clutch line

swapped out my MSP 03.5 knob for a TWM desert eagle knob

and finally replaced my torn stock rear mount with a medieval one. The install wasn't too bad, as long as you have a few wobble extensions and a breaker bar you should be able to do it in a couple hours.

and also got this in the mail today

and picked these up last week

i'll have some better quality photos up by tomorrow.

Replaced the stock radiator a few days ago. Originally I was just going to go with an oem replacement, but I ended up finding a no name aluminum 2 row for a little more so I decided to take a chance and order one. Shipping was very fast. Found it on my doorstep the day after I placed the order.

Pretty impressed with the quality considering the price. Welds look good. Also did a leak test before installation with positive results. No problems with installation, everything lined up the way it should surprisingly. As you can see in the pic above there are 2 male AN ports on the bottom of the rad. I just left the caps on since I didn't need to use them.

For a bill less than a Mishimoto I have no complaints, but we'll see how long it actually lasts lol.
