So since I have gotten my 18s I have noticed that the front brakes are visibly bigger than the rear and it got me thinking.....would it be possible to find a wrecked 3 and take the front brakes and put them in the rear? I think that would make it look tons better

not sure about fitment as the fronts are vented and rears are not... so you would need at least the full front caliper assemble as well as rotors. and then you need to place them in a different spot, b/c iirc the front and rear calipers are in different spots for stopping reasons, something to do with weight distrobution i am sure... it prob can be done, though i would measure, measure, and measure again to be sure you can fit that set up on the rear axle with enough clearence for your wheels...

I see how it could either fit fine or cause problems. Hoping goldwing can find his way in here and share his knowledge

All it would take is some custom brackets, brake lines, and some longer wheel studs. But you would lose the parking brake, and you'd probably stop alot worse than the stock rear brakes did.

So this is purely for aesthetics? Because there is no reason whatsoever to do this for performance sake, and with that much more force on the rear brakes, it might cause a safety issue as well.

Plus, it would eliminate the parking brake.

I agree 90%. (second)

I doubt you would need longer wheel studs. I'm with you on everything else.

Sounds like a good idea as long as you enjoy spinning your car every time you step on the brakes.

There is a reason why ALL cars have bigger front brakes than rear brakes.....

that can be adjusted with balancing the brake pressures, and really.... we can all use a little more oversteer ;)
