Bought a MSP....I think its got springs already on it??? HELP

Aren't you having your bushings replaced though, that's why you are squeaking. Trust me you are stock unless you've missed recgonizing the collars of coilsleeves. Its probably low because the other person's car was raised in height, tire pressure, your springs are sagging, etc. could be a few reasons.

Just to clear a few things up, that may be confusing in this thread. Spring rates, or stiffness, don't affect ride height. The MSP has a pretty soft suspension as far as performance goes. The sway bars make up for the lack of spring rate, sorta :)

Ok here's the pics:

check if your coils have been cut or heated...

werd, your car may have been ghetto lowered. check for burn marks and chips in the powder coat at the ends of the coils.

Ok...maybe a Fat Guy owned mine before me and had a fat family....lol

All I know is its lower than other stock ones...so im confused. Maybe Ill pull the rims off and check for burn marks and whatnot.

it's lower than other stock ES/DX/LX sedans ... are you sure that's not what you were comparing to?

Ok cool. Then what would the reason be for my car sitting lower than another MSP that was right next to me? Any help is appreciated... Maybe in a few minutes Ill sneak out of work and do a few camera phone shots

To me, the back looks lowered but the front doesnt. But thats just me and the pics dont help a whole lot. Need to get a pic from further away.

And I dont know...my car rides kinda stiff, but by that, I dont mean I feel every bump in the road if that makes sense. Not like I guess the lowered kind of stiff you get from cheap ghetto springs. I just mean that it drives like it just doesnt have that much give as far as regular driving or cornering. Oh well, guess I was thinking stiff in a different way. You know how us women are. lol

yeah I always thought the rear gap was bigger than the front gap on stock MSP's

Mine sits wicked high in the rear compared to that pic. I can get my arm in there on the top.

on a mazdaspeed? no way! look at any stock picture, front gap is at least double

Um considering I have a MSP and see it everyday and that the springs are stock and have no type of alterations to them (dunno)

Your car looks stock to me.
Anyway, that's the way mine looks.

Take care

mine is stock and it is the same. 2-2 1/2 fnt, 1 rear

Same here. Maybe 1-1/2 in the rear, and it's stock. Looks just like the one in his pics. I've wished I could drop the front about an inch and a half and leave the rear alone.
