I've got my three year old granddaughter for a 900 mile road trip thru Sunday. Alas, the CX-7 gets its first fitting for a booster seat, and I've got to drive all those miles like I've got some sense.

OH, the agony!!!!!!

DID IT FIT IN PERFECTLY? IS THE FITTING BOOSTER THE SAME AS A CAR SEAT?

Haven't put it in yet. Have to pick her up from my son tonite. I'll let you know.

OK COOL!!! IM PLANNING TO HAVE A FAMILY SOON. NEED SOME FEEDBACK IN THAT AREA.

If you're planning on starting a family, you are probably at least three years away from what I used.

What I used was a booster seat. Not the same as the child seat which must be properly anchored in the vehicle's passenger restraint system, and which has its own restraint system that's independent of the seatbelt system in the car.

The booster seat is for a larger child. Most recommendations use a 40/40 benchmark for the threshold of switching from carseat to booster seat. This calls for the child to weigh at least 40 pounds, and be at least 40 inches tall to qualify for the booster seat .

The highback seat I used just raised my granddaughter to a height at which the CX-7's restraint system was a proper and comfotrable fit for her. The seat fit perfectly, and once I had learned to properly route the lap and shoulder belts through the appropriate notches, it was a snap. Much easier than the child seat we used when she was younger and smaller.

Have fun!!!!!!

BTW - 1100 miles from Friday thru Monday, in Southwestern VA, eastern TN, and southeastern, KY. Didn't keep gas mileage, but it was low twenties. Comfortable effortless cruising at 85-89 with no surprises. I like no surprises!~

Thanks!!!
