Boosted FS - how many miles?

Hey guys, I'm not a frequent user of this board, but like to come by and read up every now and then. I just thought I'd throw a question out there, cuz I'm a bit curious by all these MSPs blowing up. I have an '03 ES Protege, bought it before the MSP was available in my area (unfortunately)...I've done the turbo kit deal and currently have 81,XXX on the car ...took it to the dyno saturday for some pulls took it up to 6200RPM MAX and everything, minus a bad ignition wire, seemed ok.. who here has the most mileage on their FS boosted block? Like I said, i'm at 81K + now...I'm sure I'm on borrowed time! Even if I do consider myself to be a good tuner,lol.... I drive about 200 miles a day to work, and this is my daily driver so I'm shooting to get 100K out of her before having to do a tear down...think it's possible?

BTW, I didn't get dyno numbers...first time EVER being to a dyno where the dyno didn't work! Their software was botched...wouldn't sample any data!

holy hell you have an 03 with 81K miles?!! Mine is an 03 daily driver and I have 22K miles... but anyway bump for you.....

YEP...that's what sparked my question...I drive...a LOT. I work in the DC area and live about 2hrs south of it, and have been driving 120-200 miles a day for the last four years...two of which were with the protege..it's been a great car, but I also have an '88 RX7 project car that I can't drive to work for fear of tickets,lol...

I know what you mean I have an 03.5 that I have had for 16 months and I am about to hit 61k on it lol ....

wow, that's a lot of driving every day. You must get up early.

I'm up to about 7400 miles so I'm not one to be able to help you.

what ems you using to tune with? also did you turbo the car right after you bought it or a while down the road?

A/F is little leaner than I'd like...it's about 11.9/12(i'd like to see 11.2 or so)...I have boost turned back down to 6.5psi right now and will probably leave it there for a while. The car wasn't boosted right after I bought it..I was one of those, let me see what NA can do kinda guys ..ended up at 131whp and 130tq....wasn't bad...but that was too much money wasted there on a daily driver! The car has only been boosted now for about 20K miles...stock ECU w/ work done to keep the ecu from pulling fuel away ..as these ECUs apparently like to do. Its a ball bearing Garrett T25 turbo...FMIC...no additional fuel other than an FMU...I'm planning to put a fuel pump in and then maybe upgrade injectors/rail..but honestly, I'd like to get back into a RWD 2 seater daily driver, but can't find an FD rx7 around me worth buying! The protege is my first piston/FWD car ...it's been fun, for a sedan it handles great, but we'll see...if I can get about 200whp out of this turbo setup, I'll be happy...if not, bring on FD daily driver, lol!

So basically its an msp stock boost with a better intercooler. I think around 150-200k miles if you keep this set-up.
