Boost readings

I used everything that came with the gauge. That tubing is a b**** to get over those T's, but I just took a little heat to it and it strecthed over the T a lot easier. As for the gauge, mine reads a little below zero in the "on" position also. Prosport said it is because some cars create a vacuum because of the accessories. Now I dont know if that is true or not, but my boost readings are just about dead on, so I think it is normal. But my boost readings were 15 to 16 before the standback, not 14.5. I zip tied all of my T's, filter, and sending unit to be sure I had no leaks. That is the only thing I can think of, besides the BOV. I would think the BOV leaking would cause a much worse leak to where you probably wouldnt even be able to get to 14.5, I dont know that for a fact either though. Good Luck.

I just installed my Prosport boost gauge today in my Lotek gauge pod. I got the premium series amber electric gauge but am noticing some problems. The pointer does not point at zero. After the opening sweep it reads just below zero (the car was not running at the time). Then when I took it out, the highest boost it recorded was 14.5. There were no spikes, just a constant 14.5 psig. I am tapping the BOV for the pressure source.

My question is, what pressure readings is everyone seeing with a relatively stock (intake and test pipe) car?

Could it be the gauge, or am I another victim of the leaking BOV?

Anyone else experience this problem with the Prosport?

Also, I didnt use the 1/8" ID tubing that came with the gauge. The Tee was a 1/4" Tee (also came with the gauge) and I couldnt stretch the 1/8" over it. There was no reducer in the kit. I had some spare 3/16" tubing that I got to work. Would this larger diameter cause the sending unit to read incorrectly?

I have an email into the company. Im not really an idiot like I may sound, but I want to know if its my car, or my gauge.

I have the same gauge as you guys and mine is just below the zero mark like you said. I have a catted downpipe aem intake and greddy bov and the max boost I get is a tiny bit more than 15.5. So when its not readind right at idle it looks like the boost is right on but I could be wrong

I went to home depot and bought parts to make a brass T...and thread seal tape too...

I have the prosport boost gauge, and sometimes it reads 0, sometimes -2...but either way after fixing my Forge BPV, my boost spikes to 16 and stays at 15 psi

I talked to a member who had this same issue..turns out he called prosport and it's the filter that sits between boost guage and where you T.
