Boost Leak?

in the winter i barely hit 12psi to achieve my load targets. seems your getting the same, denser air means less boost to achieve power. during the summer im sitting at 18-19psi. sounds like your ecu is simply adjusting for the cold

How so? What can be done to fix it. Just rewire? Or are you saying we have bad gauges.

it's typical prosport boost gauge characteristics. when the engine is off, the boost gauge needle/reading should be on 0 psi. re-wiring has notin' to do w/ it...it's the boost gauge itself.

Well, I had the problem diagnosed today from a couple local forum members. Plugged a dash-hawk in to see if it really was the gauge. I was spiking around 15.5 and very holding 14.5ish pretty darn consistently. Readings from the DH and the gauge were pretty much the same. Since it's a bit colder and since I'm on the stock tune I'm suspecting that the car is fine... or at the worst has an extremely small boost leak somewhere in the boost tubes. I'm going to go tighten them up now... maybe take a drive and see if it makes any difference at all.

Well if that's the case, then I don't know what the hell is wrong with my car. Last time I checked my boost tubes (pretty recently) they were fine. I finally have my type S in there and it is reading no more than 14.5 psi and 22 vac at idle. I got the same readings with the stocker, so I'm thinking that it isn't the BPV.

Buy back your Forge BPV. You should be spiking 16.5 and holding 15.5
