Bluetooth Streaming sounds flat/sharp

My last car was a 2010 Mazda 3 S Grand Touring and bluetooth streaming worked beautifully except for song data not showing up. I recently traded it in for a 2014 3 S Grand Touring, but when I tried bluetooth streaming I noticed the sound was...off... The sound goes flat and/or sharp on songs often enough that I can't listen to it. No crackling or popping sounds, it just doesn't sound right. My first Android phone was a Nexus 5 that had this issue, and I now have a Galaxy Note 4 that has the same issue. When I use the auxiliary cord it sounds perfect. Any ideas?

It has happened to me a couple of times.
Iphone 6+, 2014 mazda3 with infotainment.

I figured out the phone was sending the audio as a phone call, which uses a much lower quality type of streaming.
On the iphone I just changed the output from airplay to Mazda, and it worked.
