Mazda CX 9
Hello,
I am brand new to this forum and brand new to Mazda as a brand. We bought a CX 9 GT with Nav last week. I have successfully used the Bluetooth to pair both my blackberry and my wifes LG VX10000. Phone works fine, A2DP works fine from both phones in that I hear the music over the stereo, it sounds great and I can play and pause it. The issue is that I see no file names, no ID3 tags and no playlists. It will just play, in order the root directory of either phone. I thought this might be a media sort issue with the phones so I tried my brother-in-laws 3gs and same issue- paired and played fine but NO information what so ever on the screen. If this is normal then I guess I will buy the ipod integration module since the lack of information makes it impossible to choose what you want to listen to.
Any help is appreciated!

Same here...anyone figure this out? I have success using the seek to move forward/back one song. a Also, the pause/play button on the touchscreen works. Just can't see the files.

Also looking to get the ID3 tags working with NAV. Address book and everything else is synced over without any issue. Can play music via BT just no tags. Using the original Droid so not sure if it's due to the phone or vehicle.

You need to make sure your phone and head unit are compatible with the specific AVRCP version of the Mazda Head unit. The non-nav MID/Display (Bose) does not support TTAG data due to its BT AVRCP version. The Nav units support this from 2011 on (though I have not personally verified this). And if you have an iPhone then you're out of luck until iOS5. AVRCP 1.3 and later support Metadata. Can't remember what the Mazda units support. I believe pre 2011 it's 1.0. So bottom line, I believe:

- pre 2011 Nav do not support proper AVCRP version.
- none of the MID/Display headunit supports AVCRP 1.3
- No Apple phone will support proper AVCRP until iOS5

FWIW

I was reading the manual over the weekend and my 2012 manual says AVCRP is 1.0/1.3 (I have nav). So now I just need to wait for iOS5 to get the tags to display.

Yep that would be my guess. But knowing Apple it may not work first itme out. At least that's what happened when they enabled A2DP the first time. :-)
