Blown Motor Today! Sorry guys!

ouch. well I have no choice right now .. it's either MBC or just running straight wastegate (I don't have the boost control solenoid since my car isn't an MSP). *crosses fingers* I hope my Turbosmart treats me right :)
Hope so. Someone said my actuator might of went out. Who knows. I guess I will order a street unit forged built motor and pay someone ti install it.

i will remember that during rebuild.

use the low-psi ATP actuator from www.atpturbo.com (it's MUCH cheaper than a replacement from Mazda anyway). Check to make sure your WGA is actually bad though.

Sorry to hear about your car though man, it's so tough to see your car just sitting there and not able to drive it.. :(

an EBC is not automatically better than an MBC. i know many pros who will pick a well built and high quality MBC over an EBC any day of the week. its a blanket statement to say all MBCs are bad. quality is proportional to price in both the MBC and EBC field. don't always believe the hype.

we also have a variety of forged options and OE replacement options if you are interested.

ken beat me, check out his site, he sells motors also, and a little cheaper unless you can afford 7000g's if so go thru ken as he is an authorized vendor and very knowledgeable about our cars. He is also a little closer which (in theory) should cut down on shipping costs. Sorry to hear about your situation. BTW, what mods did you have on at the time?

If you need some help with a motor install....I'll be more than happy o do the work for you..And I am in Dayton. I am very versed in the MSP...LMK if you need the assistance...We could do this FAR cheaper than $7500..My god they are trying to **** you...Who did you take it to?
Tell me it wasnt Jeff Wyler....If so...GET IT BACK NOW!

God No it wasn't Jeff Wyler. When I called Mazda's 24 hour roadside, the lady said we will take it to Jeff Wyler. I said hell no. Please send it to Kings Mazda in Fields Ertle.
To answer the other questions, I didnt have much done. I only have the Turbo XS MBC, Injine Cold Air, and FlowMaster Exhaust. Here's the funny thing. Mazda ran a VIN check for me last week. My car is a Florida car,(I am in Cincinnati), it was bought at auction by Mazarati of Cincinnati, where I bought it. Well, Mazda said my car had a lot of problems right out of the factory. At 8,200 miles it blew the first engine and fried the ECU. It was all covered by warranty. I just think my car is doomed to having problems. It sucks that I ordered a Perrin Fuel Rail with the 440 injectors last week. I dont know if that would of made a difference or made a bigger mess.

Bigger mess considering you dont have any fuel management what so ever.

I learned my lesson. Won't make that mistake twice. What do you reccommend?

Unichip piggyback is pretty much "plug-n-play." But I do not know how much adjustability there is with that, I do know quite a few run it in here so they are going to be much more knowledgeable about it. Some are running a Haltech standalone. I am planning on running the Microtech within the next few years. I like the adjustability and there seems to be quite a few ppl that run it so there is a lot of information available about it. Megasquirt is another possible option, but that seems to be a fairly new system so there's not much R&D in that area yet.

Thanx. I will go look at this stuff right now. I will not screw this up again. I still think my actuator went bad and caused a huge spike. Maybe they will tell me tomorrow.

When my actuator went bad I was hitting 16psi, have a video of it hitting 19, but I didn't leave it at that, changed it out quick. Luckily I had more modifications so it ran a tad bit safer, I will be running Megasquirt myself soon.

Thats what I am thinking. They came and got the car so I will have to wait till Monday to see what the deal is.

you may want to camp out at the Stealership, and catch them before they touch your car. Cause they may just avoid your call, start the work, and charge you. for 7500 you could have yourself a bad ass Protege.

I was thinking the same thing. :) I am actually going to go at 8 a.m. to have a talk before they touch it.
