blown engine??

So ive had this car brand new in 07 built it to where it is and got lazy with it...so im driving home from work 1day I notice when I give it a little gas on it I started hearing this ticking sound, didnt think nothing of it still ran ok afr were good. On the way to work friday on the highway as im about to get off it got louder and louder lights started blinking on dash.good thing gas station was right there opened hood, loud ticking noise while car is on the more gas I give more louder it gets...took it to 1mechanic he thinks engine is done...can any1 point me in the right direction here? Im kinda screwed ritenow being that I only owe 2k left on car...

Wow. Forgive me, but is English a second language for you? Your post is very difficult to understand. Break it down in short sentences.

Diagnosis is impossible with such limited and vague information. Why did you keep driving it with a "loud ticking sound" that was getting louder? Exactly where, which part of the engine was it coming from? Did it get louder with rpm or more noticable at idle? Why do you say AFR was ok? What else do you monitor? Does that include knock retard? What mods does the car have? Details. How many miles? Stock tune or aftermarket? Can you post a recent datalog? How does it look under the hood? Oil everywhere or is dipstick showing full? Is coolant level full? Is there water in the oil or oil in the coolant? Will it start? What is the compression on each cylinder? How is oil pressure, fuel pressure? Is the accessory belt tight? Is the timing chain tight? Which dash lights came on or flashed? Did the yellow check engine light come on? If so, what code numbers is the ECU reporting?

What is the background of the mechanic? Does he have experience with our engines?
