Black vinyl

I hate the black vinyl around my doors and I want to take it off. Has anyone done this? How hard is it? Do I need to repaint afterwards? Or is it yellow underneath?

Im sorry i dont have any pics available right now. If you look at your windows. Between your back and your front window there is a black piece. If I take off the vinyl on top of it....is it yellow underneath.

Yeah, it's basically just tape that was put on by the factory. You could take it off, and it should be yellow.

Yeah, I saw a guy do it on his msp, didn't like it too much. The black goes great with tints.

I did mine a month ago, and love it. I used fishing line to start the moldings to come off. Then used PB DSR( Drecal/Sticker RemoveR) from the local auto store, and a plastic paint scraper. spratred on, let si 10 minutes, scraped. Repreated 3 times, and simple greened the nasty dirt traped by the moldings. Washed, waxed. was easy for me. Some have used a heat gun and had luck too.

I think he is talking about the black vinyl AROUND the windows. If you look at the next pic, you will see it is blue around the windows where as on my Yellow P5, it is black.

if I owned a black Pr5, I would take the tape off just so it was glossy... other than black, it would look 'odd' in my opionion.
