Anyone on here ever done a billet grille for their Protege Sedan? I did a search for it, but mostly all that came up was P5 stuff. Do they even make a billet grille for the sedan? I see that they make it for the P5, but that was all I could find. Could you modify a P5 billet grille to work for the sedan.....or is that too much of a headache?

I know that some people might think this idea is stupid/rice, but I think it would be cool to see something different.

on ebay there is a billet grille for the 01+ body style, im sure with a dremel you can modify it yourself but you should really know what your doing before u jump onto something like that, as for a better grille. i have a white 00' pro es, and i painted my grille white to match my car and its looks good with the chrome on top, people ask me where i bought it, i always make up an interesting story :) but really just 3 coats of krylon fusion

i think im gonna try painting my grille like the guy below me said but quick question, how do i get that damn grille off. i tried and i almost had the whole front bumper off

I have a black 02' and I painted my silver trim molding black a while back. It was alright except the color was a little off and when I waxed my car it really dulled the paint. So this time around I used a sheet of vinyl and worked it on very carefully, looks great and matches much better than any paint ever did. As for redoing the grill, you could just use mesh from homedepot, I'm thinking of trying that myself. Best of luck though.

no grill for the 99-00. have to get creative and go custom

Ya it really sucks trying to get stuff for the 99-00. Gonna go the custom route with something. I am pretty artistic, so we'll see what I can fabricate up. My only worry is that I don't want anything that looks stupid or ricey. I want everything to go with the 'clean/subtle' look that I am trying for.

its really easy, its the top 2 screws right on top of the grille on the left and right side, it comes righttt off, no pulling, then just clean it well, use a lil simple green degreaser so there is nothing to inhibit the paint from sticking, then just spray away 3 coats should do it, then once a month a re-coat cause flex and rocks affect the look of it.
