Big problem!

I recently got into a car accident involving a tree and deer.
had $12,000 worth of damage on the speed 6.
have gotten it back.
I had no engine issues with the car even after the accident the engine ran fine with no lights on.
I have gotten the car back looks great all new body and paint work. checked suspension. and done wheel aligment . as well as checked frame seems to be all fine according to shop.
Driving it for 2 days now no problems.
Than tonight it get alittle chilly. and problem,
Car will start all lights and engine cranks. runs for 3 secs gets to 1,000 rpm and than banm dies.
Unless i start it and give it GAS right away it dies. if i give it gas. it will run but with a check engine light and for some reason the trackation control light is on as well.
but if i give it gas you can hear like POOF POOF POOF!!! sound from the exhaust.
I will take it back and i dont even know what the hell they did.
But does anyone have any clue what might be wrong???? so I have some kinda of idea of whats going on.

Get the code pulled from when you throw the cel.

It sounds like your MAF is either disconnected, or damaged. Was the collision on the front of the vehicle (I assume so from what you hit)? The MAF resides just outside the airbox on the driver's front of the vehicle, it is highly likely it was damaged in the accident. Also, your throttle body connector could be loose/damaged.

Return the car to the shop, they should fix it.

hey, yes, i hit the tree on the drivers side front. i think they even replace the airbox.
Its in the shop now. but havent gotten a phone call from them yet.
I will call them tomorrow to see whats going on.

Thank you for all your input. i also found that black smoke was coming out of the exhaust upon start. for a few seconds

why didnt you total the car out... thats like 80% of its worth, you could of bought another MS6 (or use that chance to get out)

ya thats what I said, I cant believe its not written off. they said its worth $19,500.
Anyways i went to A1 autobody. thats where my insurance said i should go.
well the guy called me from the shop. said YUP its your Mass air flow sense. cause they swapped it with one they had on hand. and they said the car then ran fine.
now tho. the guy said we dont really see any damage to it. So we dont think this is apart of the accident. we called mazda and they said this is a common problem on the 6's.
I say a bunch of bull. I hit a tree on Drivers side front right where the sensor is located.
He said he called insurance on my behalf explained to them what it is. and they soo far agreed to pay half of it. total bill $791.00. so half of that.
I think its stupid of course its cause of the accident i never ever had any issues with the car pervious.

I have to call insurance now and make a case to get them to pay for it all. there just trying to suck out as much money out of me as possible.
Not to mention they didnt paint the door handles for 3 m tape on headlights , an didnt paint the side skirts. I drove it into a forest after that stupid deer jumped in front.

Tell them to pay it or you'll file a claim with the attorney general of your State

if they replaced the old one, then its their own part or they damaged it taking it off the old car. and make sure you tell them MAZDASPEED6 does not have that as a common problem!

yeah tell them there is no maf problems with the speed6 and you want the exact part number for the speed.
