just wondering what would be a better look and fit with 18x8 et45 rim. do not want real beefy profile.

It sort of depends how much you're lowered.

if you're at stock height 235/45/18 will fit more flush

not sure maybe half in rear and inch in front. i also dont want a beefy profile but also dont want a rubber band torn between 235/40 or 235/35

Overall diameter of the 235/40 is 25.4 inches, while the overall diameter of the 235/35 is 24.5 inches. Diameter of the stockers is 25.6 inches.

I would stick with 235/40 if I were you, as the 35's will leave significant wheel gap, even when lowered. Although beware, there is a chance your setup will rub when lowered.
