I voted horse, but I can see the monkey point of view.

What mods do you have. I drive about 40 miles each way but it's 90% road parts I can use the cruise control on. Auto tranny and I get 29mpg year around, never had less then 27mpg. Plus now I have iPass so I can just keep on cruising through the tolls. You can try a map or mapquest.com to try to find the most efficient route (as few stops as possible) and then always drive the speed limit, and no more than 65mph. Nice slow smooth starts, clutch in at stop lights to use the brakes to stop instead of engine braking. No long stops in grid lock (you get zero mpg when stopped). Keep fresh plugs (changed every 10-20K miles) and air filters, etc. The usual economy stuff.

I drive 60 miles each way to work. I was wondering if anyone knows a way to help ext. my MPG. I have done nothing to my P5 yet. It's a 2003 with 50k!! I need help!! I spend almost $400.00 a month on gas. Any suggestions would be great
Thanks (cheers)

Switch to synthetic engine and transmission oil.

Just to throw my .02 in...

I find I get much better gas mileage in warmer weather (above 50*). I usually average around 29 city in the summer, but only get 33 on the highway -- damn low gearing! If I ever have to rebuild my tranny I'm gonna change 5th gear so it's only turning over 2000-2500 rpm at 75. I'd have to downshift to pass people, but the gas mileage and drivetrain noise would be more bearable.

BTW, in the winter my mileage drops to 20mpg.

I've got synthetic in the motor and tranny too.

we get different additives put in the gas in the winter which hurts the milage between 5-10% up here in the northeast. i am sure in other parts of the country do this, too.

in the summer, when you have the AC on (i try not to use it for milage) you hurt you milage by the same amount. I seem to get better milage in the summer for lack of using AC......
