Best size tire for 16x7

Im sure this has been covered but couldn't find a good answer.

Running 16x7 +40 wheels. Im also lowered on H&R Springs.
Im either going to buy 205/50 or 205/45 16's.

Leaning towards the 205/45 since I have a lower offset wheel and im worried about rubbing out back.
Does anyone actually have 205/45 16 on their cars now? How is the ride? Im on 205/50 16 on stocks right now and think the ride is great.
Will the 45 series make the ride jarring or uncomfortable? Im ok with a slightly stiffer ride.

Also is the ride with the 45 series a little too rough?

i ran 205/45's on the stock rims. they will be happier on a 16x7.

So with the rear rolled it didn't rub with the 50 series right?

Id just run 205/45s. The ride isnt going to be that drastic imo

I'm running 225/45 on 16x8 rims. The rears rub over big bumps. I need to roll my fenders. That being said, the 45 series tire is not noticeably harsher than the 50s I had on before I got my new wheels (in fact, I got nicer tires, so if anything the ride is smoother and quieter).
