Best P5 Tires?

The Dunlop SP Sport FM901 are probably your best bang for your buck... P205/50VR-16
I rode with these in the rear in the winter, oem dunlops in the front. Only once did the rear break loose after a heavy snowfall. Since our cars have serious understear and I've driven mostly rear wheel drive in my life, I didn't mind the wavy gravy.

I thought our cars came stock with Dunlop SP Sport FM901s.. what's stock?

I'd say teh ES100s too.. The dunlop 901s are good, but drone like a beast on the highway..

the 712s aren't bad,but tey aren't nearly as sticky and if you compare, they're actually a fair bit heavier as well.

who runs Es100s on both of his cars.

I just put Yokohama AVS ES 100s on mine. 205/45/16 Like them so far. The wet grip is much improved over Dunlops and the dry grip at least equal if not better. But I find them to be fairly noisy.

I think my Yokohama 205/50/16's were 24 lbs. I think they have a killer look. They really channel the Florida rain like nothing else. They cost $364from tires.com with free shipping. I got their chrome valve steps too. Well worth it.

Why would you get a 205/45-16 tire that is approx. 0.5" smaller in O.D. than our original 195/50-16? I would suggest a 205/50-16, a diameter similar to the 205/45-17 that came on the MP3...

Actually, I would love a set of MP3 wheels...

205/50-16 is approx 0.4" larger... with 205/45-16, you're reading 1.7% too fast, 205/50-16, 1.7% too slow.

I'm probably going to go with 205/45-16, since they are closer to stock Protege LX 195/55-15.

It's kinda weird: MSP tire diameter is 0.6" larger than P5, and 0.9" larger than Protege DX/LX sedans.

What would you people suggest for a tire for the Northeast area (Philly)? Obviously, snow is a concern, but where I'm at, I take "main" roads to work and when it does snow, the township is very good about removal. So basically looking more for wet/rainy ability than an all season, I guess.

how bout the 205/40/16 prada specs? anyone?
man those things make yer car sound like a 4x4 riding on 38" tires on the highway....hehe..but damn do they grip!

id go with the falken 512. inexpensive, good performance/dollar ratio and not as bad in the wet as some other "performance" tires
