my vote just evened it up...had to go scooby. Their legacy line > than the 6 as of right now. The wrx is fairly solid (except for those glass trannys that popped up)...

It's not a run-away contest, though...Mazda has issues, but I think they generally make a very good product. I love both companies, to be honest...if I didn't have the MSP, I'd have a WRX.

As was already said, the legacy line is a step above the 6. Also the tribute cannot compare to the Forester(I guess its a competing vehicle) in particular the XT. Just like servoeyes, If i didnt have the P5, or should i say if I could have afforded a subaru i would have one, and it would be the ForesterXT.

Truth be told Im saving for an 06 Legacy XT sometime next year. That's when i'll rotate cars and make the mazda the daily driver and the Subie the fun car.

Check out this month's Consumer Reports. Studies show that Subaru builds better (more satisfactory customers) cars than Mazda. Mazda is actually the worst Japanese car maker in terms of built quality, according to this month's Consumer Report magazine.

Yeah...but they make fun cars! :)

I wouldn't drive a Toyota or a Honda (but maybe Acura). I wouldn't get one of the Korean brands either. I'm kind of selective...but this is my first Mazda, and while it has it's problems, it's better than the american cars that I've had experiences with.

That said, I voted for Scoobies because of the fit, finish, safety, and motor strength.

As for CR...I never listen to them. I don't agree with most of their reviews and too often I find myself knowing more about a product than the reviewer.

That's really a hard choice for me. I love my Protege but if I got another car it'd either be another Mazda (3 or RX8) or a WRX. I would never get a mitsuBITCHy or a Toyota and Honda's are just too common for me. Everyone has a Civic. Don't even mention a domestic. A few months ago I test drove a 04 Turbo Jetta and while it was alright, when I left I got in my Pro and couldn't think of parting with it.

kinda stuck on this one. Soob's interior's don't impress me at all. Cheap looking. Tranny is stiff (but stronger I guess) in most, clutch kinda bla. But the engine chasis, paint and so on...pretty good

Mazda seems to have better interiors, better looking for sure, handling, well you know the rest. I guess it boils down to what's more important to you.

That being said, if someone doesn't want their sti anymore......I'll take it. Or a new 2.5 as well.
