i wanted to know is there any difference in what brand, type of oil you run a boosted motor. i just got a kit and i wanted to know for sure so that i can do everything in big shot. wilson

I use Castrol Syntec. Brand really depends on the person, everyone has their
favorite. Just make sure you use synthetic.

amsoil, royal purple, castrol syntec, mobil 1, redline are what the majority use. personal prefference. all are good. make sure it's synthetic

been auseing, and building cars for a long while now,and I believe in(as well as my machinest) in useing royal purple,10-30W(it's stays warm here.)

in I am breaking a engine in,I use GTX for the first 1500 miles,it's a good natural oil(thier all the same, only difference is the additives)

^ what Vindication says.......there isnt a "Best Oil" out there, it all comes to personal preference.....and stay with synthetic for your boosted beauty, and change between 2-3k miles.

I Prefer using Leading Edge Lubricants 10w40 Synthetic Motor Oil.

Anyone know of a good place to buy Redline or Royal Purple Oil? I'm happy with my Mobil1 which I have been using since I bought the car with 10k miles (at almost 63k now), but then recently (a few weeks ago) I have begun boycotting ExxonMobil (for many, many reasons). I just realized today that my car is still a slave to them because I am running their not-really-truly-synthetic oil in my beloved car. I would just go get some castrol but I dunno, I just have something against that brand and for no good reason.

Wow I seriously don't know if there's a napa around here, I'll have to check online. I know there's one back home but the people in there scare me. Let's just say they really, really don't like "Japanese cars".

Was Royal Purple since the plant is 2 miles away but $30 compared to $20 for Mobil 1 + filter every oil change switched me over.

go to royal purples site and go to locate dealer and find one closest to you. generally, pepboys has it.

i just picked up a gallon of amsoil and the conversation that i had with the owner of this mom and pop auto store was very interesting and he said that royal purple was not a true synthetic but a blend. he stronly recommended amsoil above all. he cited several hot rods guys that come in a talk the stuff up and some truckers as well. well he could be blowing smoke just to sell some of the stuff but he said that he had never really dealt with the import crowd and was intrestead in hearing how it worked for me. he said that the oil was good for 22k and the filter (amsoil synthetic oil filter) was good for 12k. this will be my first synthetic oil change, previously i had been goin to the dealer( getting a hook up) getting my my oil changes. so this should be interesting.

amsoil is not a synthetic oil it is a mineral oil. You should have very satisfied results. I have heard nothing but good things about amsoil.
