well there has been discussed the best way to keep ur car exterior clean....the dash...even the seats and carpet....what about the ambient air....what is the best air freshner?

I have tried the "jelly" type from Japan that are in a glass jar. Those things are great! A little expensive, but the smell is awesome. I have also tried spray bottles, but those don't last very long. I have never tried the tree danglers, I always thought they were tacky....

I like the Mulberry ones you can get a Cracker-barrel. They smell great. They are likkle packets you just stick under one of the seats.

Yeah I have one of those too ... It's the "new car smell" flavor. :) My only complaint is that it takes up one of the cupholders. (notcool)

If I were you I'd just get a box of soap and poke some holes in it. Whe holes should let out the smell of the soap slowly. Just leave it under your car seat so everytime you run the air on your feet it will also circulate the scent of the soap. Plus it's cheep lasts forever and you have a huge selection of scents

I have tried many smelly things in my car, but the absolute best I have had is the "super stone". those things work great! they also last a very long time. I have used them for a few years now and everytime people got in my car they would make a comment about how good it smelled. I used mixed berry or cherry. :D
I don't have one, because I still have the new car smell in my MSP :)

Whaqt would you use to get OUT a smell instead of adding another?

Was hoping for something non liquid.

Once I ripped out the dash the damn car just sticks of old dust.

This is going to sound slightly crazy but I would recommend a liquid pet odor remover. Water it waaaaay down in a bucket and apply with a towel or sham after squeezing it out to where it's barely damp. It should be fragrance free (if you get the right product) and leave no residue after the dampness evaporates. Just an idea that I have actually put into practice on cars I have taken apart and later sold.

Try putting some dryer sheets under your seats. Surprisingly, this works well. It will soak up some of the odors.

there was a super long thread on here a while back about a bar of Old Spice soap put under a car seat...hilarious, i'd search for it and link it but nah, i am too lazy for that today.

Take out your entire dash and you will know what I mean :D.

I am wiring up the new guages and stereo plus doing all the neon over again adn making some custom mounts so I have the hole thing apart. Ever since then the damn car smells like a basement.
Obvioulsy with wiring I don't want to be getting it wet.

Anyone know where to get those jelly in glass jar air fresheners (the ones from Japan...) My buddy Will got one from his sister, who got it in a Chinese market. Unfortunately, there aren't any near me...

My local speed shop called none other than "Fast and Furious" (haha, no joke) sells them. So does one of the NAPA stores, and the swap meet(like $4 here). So I would try a local speed shop that sells accessories. Make some calls, you'll find one.

just got an Air Spencer from Mitsuwa in SoCal =p

"Squash" Flavor .... yum

" Odd.... it doesn't smell like squash ...... " - Me
