I got my P5 at 55,000 miles. Today I have 165,000. Ever since I got it, it would have a rattle at start up. Almost like when a car is cold and hasnt been started in weeks. but I grew to use to it because it went away shortly after. Well I did the timing belt last week, and at start up, it no longer had the rattle, or clicking at start up. Even after letting it stay parked for 4 days, and the weather here in the single digits, it did not rattle or click.

Curious , was I lucky this sound went away? or was something out of tune prior to timing belt change ?

my car has the exact same noise, anyone know? i would like to know how to get rid of it (hopefully not need to do tb)

If its anything like my car its a lifter... mine does it everytime on start ups but i t wouldn't make sense for it to go away after a timing belt change. If it does ill find out in a few weeks

when i got my timing belt replacement done i was 128.000 now my car has 152.000 the pump when bad, should i change timing belt, pulleys etc again?

thank you
