As the title implies it's been a long time since I've posted on here. A while back, 7 years to be exact (time flies), I used to be quite active on here under the user name vodapas77. There might even be some OG's still on here that remember me. A Silverado, a Ram, a Magnum, an E46 and one wife later I'm happy to be back in the Mazda community. Upon returning from my latest deployment my wife and I decided our current fleet of vehicles just wasn't really suited for our family. So, we traded off the kid hauler (Magnum) on a new 2012 Mazda 5 GT and after getting behind the wheel of a Mazda again I decided it was time for me to get my own. So, last weekend I traded my E46 in on a 2014 CX-5 GT. I'll miss the Bimmer but I am really loving the CX-5 and it is much more family friendly.
I've had a soft spot for Mazdas since I bought a MazdaSpeed Protege when they first hit the dealerships in 2003. After that me and the ex-wife picked up a 99 Miata and even ended up getting a 95 MPV as a grocery getter. Along the way I found this forum and after having been a member of a lot of other car forums I still have to say this one ranks as the best out there. Very glad to be back.
I definitely don't plan to go quite as crazy on my CX-5 as I did on my MSP or some of my other cars for that matter. But, I know myself well enough to know she won't stay bone stock. I look forward to digging through the forums to see what others have done to theirs and sharing what I do to mine.
I don't have any pics of the CX-5 or my wife's 5 for that matter. But, they are both black and stock so it's not like there's much to show. I did dig up a pic of my MSP right before I put her back to stock and sold her:
