ok, I've read all of the stickies etc etc around here and seen y'alls results so far and I'm intrigued..

Lucky (my P5) is my basic normal daily driver, but everyonce inawhile I go & hangout with the rx7 guys in the wagon, and I'm seeing about a simple way to get some extra power to be abe to go play on the highway.. (no way in hell I'm catch the 400+ rwhp guys, but I don't want to get THAT far behind....)

Anyway, the basic Q's I have...

I'm looking into getting a fairly basic 50shot wet system. what's the best package deal out there, what are the options? (NOS, NEX etc?)

Gimme a rundown of what I *need* and what I *should* get...

Again, still doing research here, nothing definate yet, but opinions would be cool....

TIA!

My Suggestion to you is get a Nitrous Express Kit..They have some really nice setups..

I have Part# 20923..It's a wet setup..w/ everything needed inlcuding jets from a 35shot-a75shot...

There are a few others running 50-75shot w/ out any problems..

Pricing will usually run ya about 500shipped (USD)! Install is pretty easy..but proffesionally will cost about $2-300dollars..

Any reccomendations on places to buy it?

What else *should* I get to go along with it? How many shots per 5/10/12/15lb bottle?

I'm not too worried about the install.. If I can pull a motor from a miata and things liek that I had better be able to do this... If not, I'll take it to gothamracing.com down the street..

what you NEED is a kit, a fuel pressure cutoff, nitrous pressure gauge, and 0-100psi gauge

what is STRONGLY recommended is a bottle warmer and a purge kit (GENX2 upgrade with NX)

there are several companies, I have Nitrous Express (NX)
NOS makes a wet import kit as well, ZEX- no clue

keep asking questions here, i will answer them all. expect all the parts etc etc for nitrous plus first bottle filled and full tank premium gas to run $1000. then install, you're looking at $1250 (which is in the high range). make sure nitrous refills are available in your area. (In FW, TX im sure they are). nitrous costs $3-$5/lb I go thru it like MAD

dont ask how long it takes to go thru a bottle, it varies A TON. Lets say this, i was hitting the switch a ton my first day and needless to say, i needed a refill the next day.

i'd buy it online. pretty cheap.

As PH Audio Said..It Varries...I say..w/ a 50shot you can expect to get atleast 7-10 runs...

Search Ebay..They are always selling kits..email the seller..and ask him for a deal..that's how i got it done!

Most kits come w/ a 10lb bottle..Any larger..and you will not have much room for anything in your trunk! Any smaller and you will run out quick..like 3-5 runs..

definetly get the genx2 upgrade & bottlewarmer..it makes the difference when racing!

I know it varies by how many times you use it, but roughly how many shots per bottle? is a hot like ~0.5lb, or ~2lbs? (yeah, I kow it's pressure, so it doesn't quite work that way..)

ok, so kit w/ 10lb bottle ~$550 shipped... Maybe cheaper depending on what I find..
Gauge ~$50 (0-100psi? And A bottle pressure? one for the line, and one for the bottle I assume?)
warmer ~200
opener $200
FP cutoff? $?? (what does this do?)

kit $517 shipped
fuel pressure cutoff $45 (if fuel pressure goes down, ie failed pump, nitrous SHUTS off saves your engine)
nitrous pressure gauge $45 (have to read if its good to go! u mount nitrous gauge right onto bottle. you can have another (i plan to) in the cabin.
warmer $150
i bet in 10secs of using nitrous, i prolly use 2lbs or so
i dont use opener, just turn around and open it for $200!!

whoops forgot purge- purges your system before you hit the switch because the nitrous that sits in your lines after u use it bogs down the new nitrous when you shoot. purge costs about $110

ah, ok.. so GEn-X upradge has the heater, press gauge, fuel switch, blown-down fitting & tube(WTF? is that?) for ~$285

ah, genx-2 includes purge.... I'm gettin it.. I'm gettin' it.. $355
http://shop.store.yahoo.com/finalstageauto/nitrousexpress.html

ok, that plus the kit at $500?

damn.. I don't want anymore gauges... I already took the effort to remove the ones the previous owner put in.. Hmm... what's a better option than the a-pillar.. (think stealthy)

oh, and yes... I can find refills around here...

I know enough of the Rx7/supra/vette guys aroudn here to have no issues there... I can get some nice 114 unleaded too if need be ;)

Add a window switch to your list...

The blow-down fitting/tubeis an NHRA requirement that vents the nitrous outside the car in the event of too much pressure, etc....

Thanks Dave...

$150 from that same site...

is this an electronic kit that fires when you're at full throttle and in teh rpm window (TPS switch) or one where you hit the "launch" button like you see in teh movies?

Movie buttons are teh suck...

Just get a WOT, arm, and window switch and focus on having both hands on the wheel.... We don't need no stinking "button"...

I would suggest gettign that 3rd gear grind/fork issue fixed before you spray it, though... Ntrous tends to void warranties. :D

eh... nevermind...

this idea is pretty much dead now that I impailed the car into the back of a dodge Ram last night...
