Bad gas mileage?

I just bought my 1999 protege lx. Well this weekend i went on a small trip and found that im getting 400km (150 mi.) a tank. Im thinking this is brutal for a 1.6L, any suggestions or replies? Thanks in advance!

i haven't driven my car fo a couple months but i think i got about 150 miles for half a tank. That is on mostly level ground, manual trans, also i didn't have as heavy of a foot....that time. My 99 lx is stock, so if yours is too then there isn't something right.

Yeah i think theres something up, im running a tube of lucas injector cleaner though it to see if it helps at all. thanks!

I usually get 150-225 miles on half a tank depending on city/highway mix. Post back when you figure out what's up with your car.

holy crap! i get 260-285 per tank on mine. I would check egr valve
