I'm still KA right now but we're not sure about the ecu. We tried 2 different ecu's and they are gonna try a third one that they have but we'll see. I'm thinking its something in the rat nest of wiring the previous owner left me. No doubt the under dash wiring is all getting replaced before I go sr.
I bet its in the rats nest of wiring. I know first hand about that. My current project car a 85 IROC-Z is in the mid of having the engine harness replaced because of the hack job that the previous owner left me as well. I had to buy a old new harness and a new ECU.
My cousin swapped out the KA for a VQ in his 98 s14 SE. He has been having issues keeping it running.
Yea wiring can be a pain when people don't know what theyre doing before hand lol.
The vq swap is killer man, not my style but sweet as hell, whats wrong with his?
It is a killer swap. 300hp in a S14. He bought a wrecked 07 350z for dirt cheap. So he has the engine, 6-speed trans, and whole harness. The problem he is having is that the stock cluster in the s14 will not work with the electronics of the VQ35. So he is working on a custom setup. This swap is still fairly new so there is not much support at there.
I have a 74K S52 3.2L I-6 from a 98 M3 that I need to find a home for.

Yea or into a 318ti. The problem with e30s up here in New England their very rusty. So I would have to look in the south or west for a nice example. I do know where there is one here that is in showroom condition but the owner wants $5900 for it.

Another quick update, car just got to my friend's shop today. Really impressed so far with them, they called as soon as it got there and looked over the entire exterior and called me about anything they found before it came off the tow truck.

Lol, nothing that wasn't there before They haven't found the spark issue yet but they're working on it tomorrow I guess. Who knows, I've got about two weeks before I can get back up there though. I left that tidbit out though when I dropped it off, don't need no slacking

i also have a 240sx, where did you get the wheels at?
Wheels came on the car. Other than that I can't really help you lol. If you know anyone in Japan though you may be able to pick up a set.
Slight update. The car is now running, unfortunately though my radiator has a crack in it and needs to be replaced. Also the alternator is iffy but we think its just a ground problem. Best part about it is that I should be up in Atlanta weekend after this to pick it up and start driving. I'm really excited. Sorry about the lack of pictures again, its killing me too. I can give you this though. Open header ftw! haha.

That sounds nice! What type of radiator are you planning on using? My cousin had a custom aluminum one built. He has figured out the issues of the VQ harness and cluster. I do not know what the fix was. But its getting all new suspension and custom exhaust this week. He just blewup his Sentra SE-R B13 which he talking about doing a S20det swap.

^You need to be a member to view the pics. Saw my cousin's 240sx or should I say 350sx. He has it running and drivable. He gave me a ride in it and its damn fast. Lightweight and hipo V6 just a sick combo. He is on my case about finding a BMW to swap in my S52. Tomorrow I'm going down to Mass to look at a 98 318ti Club Sport with 110K for $3800.
