So i was backing out of the drive way. My rear view mirror aims down wen it is hot out and my system is on. I look all around me except directly behind me, and wen i am looking to the side i am thinking wait all the mail boxes are so far, where is the one for this house... AND SLAM!! Backed up strait into the mail box. Took the whole thing down. Well i am not telling this story to look like an idiot, cuz i already know i am one.

But anyways my question is how do i get to the metal part of the trunk (under the glass) from the inside. I want to try to pop it out. Anyone know how or have any other suggestions?

probably have to unbolt the latch portion and pull out some pop tabs. good job on the mailbox.

(lol)

I did the same thing with my wifes suv, except I backed in to a friends van. Although it was dark out, snowing, and oh yeah, I had a few drinks. The best part was we only had the thing for like 2 weeks, put a nice big dent in the rear bumper, not to mention crushing the tailgate on the van. So I can sympathize with you. I'm not laughing at you, just with you.

sux man...i havent hit anything yet with my car...come to think of it Ive never hit anything with any car(knock on wood) :D

hope it pops out for ya :D

That reminds me of the time when I first drove an automatic after 3 years, I was backing up and forgot that there wasn't a clutch and backed into a high curb bending my rims.

figures you only damaged your rims...

since your car is Carbon Fiber and we all know that its hard to damage (rlaugh)

when i was first learning to drive stick i pulled up to the garage door and my dad told me to pull up farther cause he needed room behind the car. sure enough, too much gas, too quick with the clutch, and a new garage door a few days later.

If you're talking about that panel on the inside of the hatch it just pulls right off. There are metal clips holding it to the hatch and you can pry it open a little and try use a screwdriver or pliers to squeeze the clips one by one. Mine was on really tight.

yeah, that thing is a PITA.

ya just gotta rip it off real hard...Sucky thing is, 4 of the clips came off of the panel and stayed attaced(very loosely) to the hatch. I cant figure out the trcik to getting everything to fit back together tightly so I gotta take it to the dealer and see if they know what to do...cuz it rattles like a mofo now.

you gotta get one of those cameras for the back of your car...hook it up to a monitor on the dash...you'll be golden!! J/k!!

hahaha yeh thanks for the info guys.
I will try it today. I wish i only messed up my bumper. Not only did i do this, but like 2 months ago i was backing up into my drive way, trying to get as close as possible, and boom backed up rite into the corner of the house. ****** up my bumper haha.

hahaha. Thanks for the support! (silly) I am retarded. But now my driveway will not only be a place to hook up my car (and fellow cars), but will not turn into a body shop as well. I am gonna try and fix it myself with bondo. 2nd time working with it. this is not gonna end well. But i figure i might as well debadge my car at the same time. Any suggestions for the man who never does anything rite? LOL.

yeah i have a suggestion: DO IT RIGHT. (nana)

LOL THATS GREAT ADVISE! Just two problems, 1. I have no idea what i am doing. 2. I am a cheap Jew and am not gonna pay someone 500 bucks to fix it. Rather drive with it.

anyone remember that episode of Family Matters when Bob Sagget bought that bigass yellow car with reflectors and tires as bumpstops all around it for his daughter's first car? (dont lie, you know you watched that show!!!)

well, FLSilverP5 you need to do that!!!!
