AWR Motor Mounts!

i have had my mounts in for awhile. there is not really a trick but if u search the forums u will find where i described the install. it has been awhile sence i have been on here. but the back mount will be tough.

Did anyone get any instructions for the install, or is someone playing a practicle joke on me?:D

No instructions included. If you look on www.awrracing.com they tell you where to place them. I will take pictures when I put mine in but it is gonna be a little while.
And my install will be alot different than most because my engine is out of the car and will be alot easier to do the install but still the locations will be the same.

Well for one thing it's not a new engine, just rebuilt. :( But it should be going in the car sometime early next week hopefully if not late this week. All the machine work is done, we are just waiting on parts now.
I cant wait to get my car back, it's gonna be like getting a brand new car all over again. :D
I'm tired of driving this 98 astro van :(

Astro vans rule!!

Ok, well, maybe not...

Ok this is deffinatly a 2 person job, me and a friend of mine put them in yesterday. That was almost as bad as the clutch instillation. But the vibration in the car is not that bad, the only differeance I can tell is only at idle. But so far not wheel hopping, I like them. But if it came down to I would recomend someone else dealing with that head ache.

Sounds encouraging!
Did you have the AC on when you were at idle?

BTW...Since I won't have the engine in my way during the install I should not have the headaches that you had. :)

Yes, the A\C was on, when it was off it felt like normal. Yes you are lucky because, it was fun getting to the back mount. Also when you are taking off, at low RPM it idles rough but at about 1100 rpm's it smoothes out.

Overall it is worth doing this mod because it takes away the wheel hop though, right?
That's all I want really.

Well I have enjoyed spinning out alot more, I mean giving my car HELL, and I have had no wheel hop, I love it, I can't wait till the rest of my stuff gets here to put the turbo on. I don't think that I will have any problems. Hope not

You work for the Coke company don't you. You had Nitrous on your car didn't you. I put mine on after you did I think, I think that you had the same kit that I had, ZEX kit right

So where did the mounts go? Which ones did they replace? How long did it take you?

How did you survie Zex Mikesmazda155?

It took about 5 hours to replace them, you have to take into consideration that I do work in a shop and I have to help other people, but if you stayed with it, the front one should take about 15 minutes, the back one is the tricky one. The engine has to be minipulated into the right spot so you can take out the old mount and line uo the engine to put the new mount in (that was where the fun part came in to play). We had to take the transmission mount off so we could rock the engine to line it the back engine mount up. The smaller mount goes in the front, and the larger in the back.:D

The way that I avoided the whole losing my engine to ZEX was after I ran my second bottle into my car I sold the kit. I raced a turbo car and lost and the guy talked me into going turbo. I am hoping that I did not do any damage to my engine by using zex.

Mike:
There's no way I can do it myself. How many hours should it take for the dealer to install it?

Seeing how the dealer has all the tools that would be needed, and the know how (riiiiggghhhttt) I would say it should take at most 3 hours, but a skilled mechanic it should take 2 hours. Good luck man.

Down here the mechanics do not know how to adjust the sensitivity on the alarm, this mechanic it would take about four hours.
