auto trans problem

Any more updates on this? I'm going to check it over myself this weekend, and probably take it into the dealer. Mine hasn't done it for a while but I want some documentation in case something goes on it later down the road.

mdagost103 has about 12K miles on his P5, and his tranny blew again this weekend. It's either the 4th or 5th time.

There's a CRACK in the transmission visible when looking under the hood.
tell him to stop doing nuetral drops...

omg automatics suck a lot more than I originally thought

good luck with the trannies people

I wouldn't let the dealer handle the work unless Mazda is picking up part of the bill, dealers charge out the ass and cause more problems than they solve

well, actually, almost or all threads that people posted regarding blown transmission have involved manuals, i believe...

the only tranny that seems to break under normal driving conditions is the autosport tranny. my bro-in-laws went out at 11K and mine slipped a couple days ago. im taking it in tomorrow morning. as far as cost, they better not even try to charge me for s***. its a warranty problem and i shouldnt have to pay for that

I had transmission problem too, good thing I bougth extended warranty. I only paid $100 deductible for replacing whole transmission.
glad you getting yours fixed :D

Haven't experienced this. I have the sport-shift A/T and pretty much drive 100% in the 'manual' mode. So far no probs at 25000 km

you use the manual mode 100%?!?!?! be prepared. i see the need for a new tranny in your future.

didnt charge me anything since they did the work under goodwill warranty!

possibly a loud bang might occur like metal hitting metal and you would feel that through the car as if somebody hit you all of a sudden. different people might feel different things.
this happened to me at around 13k miles, i was just taking off under an overpass and i heard the loudest noise  directly under me. told the dealer and they had no idea what it could have been. well now i know. it hasn't slipped any other time thank god.
