auto or stick?

stick for sure! i use to have an auto car, and after getting a manual car, i'm NEVER going back to auto. if you don't know how to drive stick, be prepared though.. the first few weeks are hell.. and the first time you get caught in a traffic jam.. watch out haha, but once you get past that point.. you won't regret it.

Unless your girlfriend also knows how to drive stick, and that is a plus for them! (thumb)

I like stick better, offers more control, more fun. Even with traffic, stick is still better, it makes you pay more attention which would make you a safer driver hopefully...

Now w/ auto,it's good bc w/ most girls they only know automatic,so when you get drunk at a party,ur girlfriend can drive you home.

The only obvious choice is stick or manumatic such as in the VW GTI to Ferrari.

It will take me a lot to get me sold on those though. Sure it's -theoretically- better and shifts faster. But it's like this ******* electronic digital signal processor guitar amp I picked up last week against my better intuition.... and am going to take back. I want a solid dial to turn... not a bunch of ******* buttons to push and menus to scroll through. It just ain't right.

I get angry everytime I drive an automatic. (Usually a rental car.) But in a way it's better than push buttons on a wheel. I drove a Cayenne Turbo and just ******' gave up and put in Drive and mashed the pedal to the floor. Too annoying and made me angry.

Obviously though I am an angry person. :D

Yup, my girlfriend can drive stick :)

She's never owned a MT car so she's a little nervous sometimes, but she does OK and doesn't break anything :)

stick all the way, the civic is my first stick car (thumb)(and first car too :) ) and I hate when I have to drive my mom's Tribute, which is auto

stick, your buying a slow car (no offence p5 guys but you know its true, unless your turbo) your going to want to get more out of the engine i guarrentee you that, it will be funner to drive and also cost less and you will get better mpg if you drive conservatively.

i live in california and the traffic is pretty bad still thinking about driving a stick... i never driven stick during traffic situations so i am thinking if i should do it...

It's not that bad here w/ a stick. There's just a lot more shifting involved in traffic, mostly going back and forth from 1st and neutral. When it clears up,your good to go!

yeah man i'm from down south too, dont be a grandma, just buy a stick, yo Phoenix 5 i'm heading down to Mission Viejo for about a week starting on saturday, maybe we should meet up

i drove a stick in heavy traffic for years...it sucks..clutch in clutch out....if you can get on the back roads come the weekend...then it's all good!!(thumb)

Part of the reason I got the sportshift was cause of the bad traffic and the car being more of a commuter car, but know I kinda regret it. All of my cars ( Accord , EK hatch, And SRT) have been stick. Now I miss it....

The biggest advantage of the auto is having your chick drive (edit: polish)your stick while the auto controls the car.............................................& on a side note for all the guys, don't forget that one month after valentine's day is steak & bj day, which is today. I got mine, go get yours.

(mswerd) I got mine (blowjob)

my girlfriend wants me to teach her to drive stick, but i don't know if I want her to be able to drive my car, (nailbyt) ya know?

hmm. I dont know, I myself can drive both but have an automatic. Maybe its because I've never really had the oportunity to go all out while driving a mtx but I think you have to concentrate less with an auto and can concentrate on swearving in and out of of traffic more. I find that to be fun. Now if you plan going turbo go manual, if you dont plan on driving on weekends to much go auto, if the car is a commuter with lots of traffic go auto, if you dont wanna have to bother with shifting while driving and getting head go auto. If your girlfriend only knows how to drive auto and you dont want her driving your car go manual. If you think you will enjoy manual driving go manual.
If I had the chance I would go manual though, I'm actually looking to trade in my 02 ES atx for a manual. When that will happen, I dont know.
