So I have had my 2014 CX-5 for 2 days and I can't seem to get the auto locking feature to work, I have the settings to lock my car after 30 seconds when I'm walking away but it doesn't seem to be working, I was curious as to what I was doing wrong or if this was an issue for other users

Thanks in advance.

You need to walk away towards the front of the car. If you walk towards the back it won't work. Listen for the 1 beep, then the 2 beeps will follow. If no beep, the doors won't lock.

It should work in any direction. Mine does.
It depends. Usually we're taking our little one out of the back seat, so it usually doesn't pick up the key after I walk away.
But if I'm driving alone & I get out & walk away in any direction, it'll work.
I usually listen for the beep & the flashing turn signals.

I'm still learning with our car, but I believe the car will not auto lock even if its set up to do so, if you have unlocked it with the remote fob, rather than door actuator.

This is useful if you're constantly opening and closing door, say washing or valeting.

I think if you unlock with the remote fob & don't open the doors, the car will automatically relock after 30 seconds.

Sorry I got this wrong, car still auto locks after opening the door after using fob rather than door.

Our car seems to be doing odd things such as phone not always connecting via Bluetooth, and parking sensors turning them self of.
Even had the car driving in reverse without the rear view camera coming on, in to neutral and back into gear and then its ok.

And the car not always auto locking.

The car will not auto lock if any the doors are open when you shift out of park.
The rear view camera will turn off if you press audio or any other button on the head unit.
The Bluetooth will connect to the last phone it was connected to if you have more than one phone connected & when both phones are in the car.
My phone is #1 & wife's #2. But when she drives last & I get in, the Bluetooth still connects to her phone. I always have to switch to my phone under phone settings.
