Audio System Replacement

There has been a fair amount of discussion about replacing the stock stereo system and speakers in Mazda 3 communities, so I am going to post a guide to remove doors and the head unit.

Everything is fairly straight forward but I don't want anyone screwing up their beautiful new 3. I will have pics up in the next few days of the process.

If anyone has questions thus far, go ahead and ask and I'll do my best to help along with the help some other wise members.

In short, no.

One reason is money. I already have an amp for the speakers and speakers will be relatively inexpensive. So, for a couple hundred in speakers, I will have a much better sounding system. Beyond that, the whole system does need a lot of work.

I want to to do a very good sub and amp setup, which will probably set me back at least $700, so that is going to wait. Is that your plan of action?

I should add, I'm considering waiting even longer and doing a custom floor installation with a fiberglass box in the rear cargo area floor. The spare is so dinky any way, I'd rather pull all of the trim out and just have a plexiglass floor so I can still use all of that space and still thump. My buddy put 2 10's in his P5 and he has no space left.

Is anyone well versed in such a thing?

I have a 10" Fosgate and a legacy amp (not in car). I was thinking of using 2 8" sub and making a 45 deg box to keep most of the trunk. Do you know how if the stock reciver has low output on it?

No. You'll have to use high level inputs directly into the amps or use a line output converter and run interconnects from where you splice off the speaker level inputs. I don't really know what will give the best signal. Anyone have advice? I've never ran with a stock receiver so any tips are appreciated.

if you want the best sound possible try www.autosound200.com

they make very high quality level outputs so you won't lose any sound quality. generally these units u can find cheaply elsewhere, but cheap loc's will kill your sq.
