Audi A3

Anybody seen an A3 yet? I think I rode in a 2 door version in Sweden last year on a business trip. Seems like a pretty sweet car - probably just a tad more solid than the P5. But we can claim driving the groundbreaker in this style (in North America at least). Better pics on the Audi website, but I couldn't figure out how to copy them.

I wish they make the 3 door version and bring it over here.
But the first thing to do if I ever brought one is either replace the stupid looking grill or paint the black part into body matching color and remove the big ass 4 rings Audi badge.
What's with all the car maker these days? Everyone keep putting bigger and bigger badge on the front of their products. Might as well make a huge one that cover the whole hood cover and put them on the hood.

It's got to be something they focused-grouped.
"I want people even stupider them me to know I drive an Audi. Make the badge huge." And then there's those jackasses (usually BMW drivers) who get the chrome BMW license plate for their front bumper. WE ALL KNOW YOU DRIVE AN F'N BIMMER OK!!? (jerkit)

I remember a time (mid 80s, I was jsut a kid but...) when if you wanted a 'nice' car you bought a Caddy or a Mercedes. BMWs and Audis were fairly rare-- mostly only enthusiasts (with a little $) who really loved driving bought...
Now BMWs and Audis are completely dime a dozen. Fully of auto trannys and drivers who couldn't begin to appreciate anything abou their car than the *Bling*. Bleh...

I will wait for the upgraded version , with the quattro and 240 HP in December before I shoe a interest. I think it will do really great here, if it could be had for less then 35 i might look into the upgraded one.

I miss the days when Lexus only use 5 ultra-thin font 5 letters as it's logo and badge. And also the old flat and long MAZDA letters badge.

I think I read somewhere that the 'upgraded' version is going to be a 3.2 V6 @250 HP, but the weight on it was pretty hefty with the V6 and AWD. 0-60 times are supposedly: 7.0 for the 2.0 turbo I4 (200HP) and 6.3 for the V6. Not completely positive on the numbers though.

It's the Golf V... it's just that VW Group company dynamics state that the luxury version of a car HAS to show up a year before the cheap version. (hence, the new A3, A4, A6, and A8 before the Phaeton, Jetta, Passat, and Golf V.. and the Cayenne showed up before the Tuareg)

Expect a lot of quality control issues. At least half of those gimicky switches and other "doohickeys" will break before the car hit's 100K. Just lease one if you like them.

i've driven it. its just like the msp except quieter and longer. still feels strong in the twisties, although i didn't take it around too many corners, and it's quick and pretty fun. overall i enjoyed driving it. i think it's overpriced tho

i was thinking of getting that as my next car, does any one know what HP it has, and how it is with handeling? thanks

HAHA that pic on ur signature reminds me oh my car when a lady in a SUV failed to notice the red light and the fact that i was parked at it too......funny thing was i never took picks of my dmg didnt really wann remeber my poor car looking all jacked up..(i know this had nothing to do with post)

(by the way the suv parked in that wall was the suv that hit me O.o)

wow that interior is buttony....i'd go damn near insane just sitting in it. exterior is nice, i guess, and the grill is OK.

i wouldn't buy one based on looks, thats for sure.

Since it is a Audi and already costs quite a bit, I wouldnt even consider this car without quattro.

LOL! What's with all these horny SUVs rear-ending P5s ass?
There is another WA guy Chris, his yellow P5 also got rear-ended by a Jeep SUV before mine was hit.

I drove one friday afternoon in a promotion to get 33 free itunes songs.. it wasn't too bad for a FWD car although the understeer annoyed the unholy crap out of me.. it was strange, I got back in my 6 and the clutch/steering felt like lead bricks.
