ATP Downpipe is now shipping!

nice piece!
I wonder though about the primary 02 sensor
The C-PE has a long tube to take the sensor out of the direct flow of the exhaust to reduce the chance of getting a CEL. This one doesn't have that and since it's catless, I would be concerned.
I'm sure ATP knows what they are doing and the design is great, just asking is all...

Nice!

On the bottom of that link it says they are testing for the CEL.

I am in the same boat. However, no matter how awesome this DP may be. I wouldnt buy it if its still in the "testing phase". Thats is a pretty big (and expensive) leap of faith.

If you put this on and it throws a CEL you are dead in the water from what I understand about this car. It will pull boost and run really rich, which I guess is the safety feature.

Not to mention
This downpipe offers big performance gains on cars still running the stock turbo or upgraded turbo. Even on the stock turbo, this free flowing downpipe will make as much as 50 ft/lb of torque on the bottom end and a lot of HP depending on the amount of boost you run.

Can that be anymore ambigous..." a lot of hp".

Sounds to me like this is still in the early stages of testing and hasnt even been dyno'ed.

Is it compatible with all chassis configurations?

Mazda 3
6 AWD
CX-7 FWD/AWD?

Reason I ask is I've got the 7 AWD and this looks enticing

I have the CP-E catless downpipe and have a cel on constantly. The light is annoying , but it has no effect on performance. Apparently all it takes is a diode to get rid of the cel, but the light doesn't bother me enough to fix it right now.

this will make great power. at stock boost expect 20-30 whp and probably close to 40 wtq. turbos LOVE to breath

I doubt that the downpipe will fit as your engine compartment is probably alot different. But you could order the ATP V-band flange (it's the hardest part to fabricate), and then just have a local shop use it to make you a downpipe.

yeah.. and bleeding stops eventually.. lets just not worry about the amount of blood you lose. :)

Doesnt a CEL mean your car is prob running super rich now ? thats going to cause alot of carbon buildup in your engine right?

The car actually holds more boost with the upgraded downpipe. Boost comes on faster, and I hold about 17~18 psi where I used to hold ~16 psi.

The car runs really rich to begin with, but my wideband matches just about all the dyno AFR's posted for the MS6, so I don't think its really effecting anything. If anything I'm about .25 leaner than most of the dynos--that still puts me in the mid to low 10's at WOT so I don't think I have anything to worry about. I theink the fact that the factory upper O2 is a wideband sensor really helps this motor keep up with mods alot better than the average car.

hm.. sounds hopeful. So far all the mods for our DISI's seem to hurt the car.

Are there issues with modding the MS3????
no one has modded the ms3 yet. I think.. im going to be the first. yay me.

TMIC should be here any day now. going to throw that on and see..

That's a great mod to start with. The two worst stock parts on these motors are definatly the intercooler and the downpipe.
