SuperSpud said:ok ok ok. soooo... I install my TT, pop off the rear deck, cut a blue/white wire, and tape it up (not connecting it to anything?), and im good to go? I can arm my alarm with my car still going? or just lock doors?
SuperSpud said:huh.. and what is this magical blue/white wire?
Check this thread out.....I posted this quite some time back. To arm the alarm you will need to perform an additional mod with a relay. This will fool the alarm to think that the engine is really not running.CommieSpeed said:I get the same results....CAN ANYONE HELP US!!! Please I pray to the techy gods to send us a savior who does nothing but spend time searching forums for those in need of irritating wiring assistance! This problem bothers me to the point where I want to take the car to the dealer or something to fix it!
i hope i'm not opening myself up as a dumbass, BUT those instructions are a little above my head. will radio shack or somewhere know exactly what i'm asking for if i just go in and say i want a spdt relay? and for the constant 12v, does it matter if i tap in before (closest to battery) or after (closest to ignition) the point where i tapped in for my tt? about the only part i understand is the grounding. has anybody tried this? any pics??? sorry for the ignorance, just need some clarification though...(shrug)mazdadan said:Check this thread out.....I posted this quite some time back. Cutting the wire on the keyless module simply allows you to lock the doors with the engine on. The keyless module and alarm module are two separate units.
These aren't stupid questions at all. I used to be MECP installer for alarm systems and this was a pretty simple ordeal for me. Yes, Radio Shack or almost any automotive store will know what a SPDT relay. It is one of the most basic pieces. It is used in all types of applications....fog lights, alarms, locks, etc.wickedjra said:i hope i'm not opening myself up as a dumbass, BUT those instructions are a little above my head. will radio shack or somewhere know exactly what i'm asking for if i just go in and say i want a spdt relay? and for the constant 12v, does it matter if i tap in before (closest to battery) or after (closest to ignition) the point where i tapped in for my tt? about the only part i understand is the grounding. has anybody tried this? any pics??? sorry for the ignorance, just need some clarification though...(shrug)
So it does not work right? It only locks the doors?SOSPEED said:I just did this mod and it doesnt arm the alarm.. Test it yourself. Just roll down the window, turn your car on and give yourself a few seconds on the turbo timer and them turn the car off. Shut the door and hit the look buttom. Now wait till the car turns off, then reach in the window pull the look up and then open the door.. NO alarm.. So if someone really wanted to they could bust your window out and not have the alarm go off..
I believe the relay does not work, from this thread:Dr.Sound said:has anyone done both things? i mean cutting the blue/white wire AND installing a relay?
does it work?
Dr.Sound said:this DOES NOT WORK!
tried it.
tried other things too.
tried it with 2 guys that each had 10year experience with alarms.
mazda alarm will not work, it's too simple and needs a constant 12v to run, if the constant power is cut in any way, then it will not arm.
i dont want to go in too deep into this, but there is nothing you can do to make it work, sorry.
if someone makes it work then i will say i was wrong, but untill then...
In the rear dash...just rip that shizznit off. PLease let me know if that works...if anyone can find a way to fix this it is you. SAVE US!!! DON'T GIVE UP!! YOU CAN DO IT!! The day you were working with those guys with 10 year alarmm experience you didn't cut the wire?!?!?! This could be what does it man!Dr.Sound said:and to everyone that cut the blue/white wire.....
where is the box located exactly?
i mean the box labeled Naldec....factory keyless entry module.
thanks.
