arm alarm with tt

it takes about 2 mins :D I always forget if my car is locked or not... now i can still hit the lock button and hear the beep.. I wouldn't have installed a TT if i couldnt use my remotes... that is just stupid.

ok ok ok. soooo... I install my TT, pop off the rear deck, cut a blue/white wire, and tape it up (not connecting it to anything?), and im good to go? I can arm my alarm with my car still going? or just lock doors?

yep u got it... you dont even need to totally remove the rear deck.. the white box is located right at the edge so all you need to do is take out the plastic rivet things unplug the harness from the white box, then cut the blue/white wire. there are 3 blue wires so pick carefully the others are blue/grey dont touch them. just tape up each side of the blue/white wire and your good to go.

I can lock/arm my stock alarm while the car is running. (nana)

huh.. and what is this magical blue/white wire?

i think it is a saftey feature that shows 12v so you cant arm the alarm while the car is on. Or lock your keys in while the car is running if you use your spare set. I noticed this a while back because i usually leave my car on but arm the alarm on cold mornings when im getting a coffee or running into the convinence store, but with this car it would never let me.

I just did this mod and it doesnt arm the alarm.. Test it yourself. Just roll down the window, turn your car on and give yourself a few seconds on the turbo timer and them turn the car off. Shut the door and hit the look buttom. Now wait till the car turns off, then reach in the window pull the look up and then open the door.. NO alarm.. So if someone really wanted to they could bust your window out and not have the alarm go off..

yeah, i just tried snipping my wire on my break. drove around parking lot, shut off car, closed doors and such. hit lock on my rmt, door locked (with tt going), hit lock on rmt again (and i did get the horn honk as if alarm is armed). tt shut off after 30 secs, but no alarm indicator!!! the light stayed off. so i hit my 'lock' btn on rmt again horn sound and now the light blinks.
so i'm with sospeed, car locks and sounds alarm, but it's not really activated....

I get the same results....CAN ANYONE HELP US!!! Please I pray to the techy gods to send us a savior who does nothing but spend time searching forums for those in need of irritating wiring assistance! This problem bothers me to the point where I want to take the car to the dealer or something to fix it!

Check this thread out.....I posted this quite some time back. To arm the alarm you will need to perform an additional mod with a relay. This will fool the alarm to think that the engine is really not running.

Cutting the wire on the keyless module simply allows you to lock the doors with the engine on. The keyless module and alarm module are two separate units.

i hope i'm not opening myself up as a dumbass, BUT those instructions are a little above my head. will radio shack or somewhere know exactly what i'm asking for if i just go in and say i want a spdt relay? and for the constant 12v, does it matter if i tap in before (closest to battery) or after (closest to ignition) the point where i tapped in for my tt? about the only part i understand is the grounding. has anybody tried this? any pics??? sorry for the ignorance, just need some clarification though...(shrug)

These aren't stupid questions at all. I used to be MECP installer for alarm systems and this was a pretty simple ordeal for me. Yes, Radio Shack or almost any automotive store will know what a SPDT relay. It is one of the most basic pieces. It is used in all types of applications....fog lights, alarms, locks, etc.

I would make all electrical connections INSIDE the vehicle. All of the wires needed are located under the driver's kick panel and under the steering column cover. The +12V constant can be tapped on either side, since it is always live.

If you take this info to an alarm install shop, they could do this for you pretty easily. Good Luck!

damn i just realized this as well... The relay idea sounds simple enough, hopefully i get some time soon to do it.

I think this is the same exact topic?

So I'll post to the one with most discussion.

So it does not work right? It only locks the doors?

has anyone done both things? i mean cutting the blue/white wire AND installing a relay?
does it work?

I believe the relay does not work, from this thread:

The reply to the relay thing:

this DOES NOT WORK!
tried it.
tried other things too.
tried it with 2 guys that each had 10year experience with alarms.

mazda alarm will not work, it's too simple and needs a constant 12v to run, if the constant power is cut in any way, then it will not arm.

i dont want to go in too deep into this, but there is nothing you can do to make it work, sorry.

if someone makes it work then i will say i was wrong, but untill then...

^ no dude, read my post.......BOTH

it wont work just with the relay, but it might work if u do BOTH. cut the wire AND install the relay.

HAS ANYONE DONE THIS.........BOTH???

and to everyone that cut the blue/white wire.....
where is the box located exactly?
i mean the box labeled Naldec....factory keyless entry module.
thanks.
