Are they offering deals on the 2013?

From what I've seen, the ONLY difference in 2013 and 2014 is the engine power - is this correct? If so, I would be happy with the 2013, I'm a very conservative driver and don't accelerate much. It's not worth it to lose the 1 mpg or so and pay more for the power...so are dealers offering really good deals on the 2013? Like far below invoice? Anyone have luck buying a 2013 right now?

You're going to get a better deal on a '13 than a '14 right now, but don't expect "far below invoice" because demand is strong for CX-5s in general. But it's stronger for the newest iteration. You may be able to get a few hundred in back of invoice on a '13 while the baseline for a '14 is probably right around invoice. BTW, there are some minor changes to the infotainment system and a new low-speed accident avoidance feature on the '14. One other thing: your header gives away you frame of mind about new car pricing. As a buyer, it shouldn't matter to you "what they're offering". Your job is to do your homework and make them an offer of a price you want.

As of today, don't expect to find good selection of 2013's.

That does seem to be the case on the left coast, but OP is from NY, where things may be different.

Different, but still not likely to have good selection of 2013's on east coast either, as of now.

Still plenty of 2013's in the Texas market, but interesting enough only 3 in the entire state that match what I want*. When the time comes, I may end up just having to order a 2014.

* There are over 700 '13s within 250 miles of me. Only 55 of those are AWD, only 3 of those are Stormy Blue GT's with Tech Package.

Well online my closest dealer shows 15 of the older model and only 2 of the 2014..

That's great if they actually keep records up to date over the weekend, check back Monday. Hopefully selection of popular configs is good.

Also they know exactly what 2014s will arrive very soon.

Best wishes to you. When I found out that Mazda will be putting a bigger engine to the trim level I wanted, I decided that I have to get the 2013 before they are all gone. The 2.0 power is more than enough for the 99.9% of the driving I do plus I get rewarded with a better "mpg". If I want the car to accelarate faster, I just flip the auto stick to manual and push it 1 or 2 gears down and let her do the thing. This thing likes to dance the twist(y roads).

Several dealers still have more than +24 2013 CX-5 in stock near me in NJ; the majority of them being Touring models w/Bose Pkg which I'm actually in favor of getting.
