Just a quick question to all those with aftermarket seats. Are they actually comfortable or very stiff? I do alot of driving so i need to know before i buy some.... Also, don't our cars have side airbags in the seats....how does this affect the airbage sensors when you disconnect them....and finally, to those how have them, please state what type you have and how comfortable they are compared to the stock seats....Thanks

the reclinable seats are normally more comfortable since they are made for street cars...while the soild back seats are racing ready basiclaly....sparco torinos and cobaru......both have awesome comfort

I have some reclinable R1 racing seats. They didnt cost too much and I find them very comfortable. I dont like to move around when I am driving though. I also dont like to move the adjustment around at all. Once set it doesn't move.

Comfort is great, they hug me into the seat. Getting in and out is a little more difficult as the seats have raised parts on the sides and bottom.

I would buy them again. I dont know if I would drop more than $700 though.

Hope that helps.

Who makes those R1 seats? Are they Tom motorsports....cause those were some i was looking at. I can get them for $600 a pair. I can also get Tenzo R rally style for $950 a pair

To be honest, I am not sure who makes the seats, they just say R1 racing on them. I bought them off of a local guy who already had them in his p5.

fitting the brackets and making the mounts looks like it will be a b****...

Reclinable != racing seat. :D . For the true racing seats that I've sat in, they are comfortable for a while, but I wouldn't want to drive with them for hours on end. However, for the imitation race seats, I would imagine they're fairly comfortable.

my brother has stock recaros in his evo....
the seats feel great. unless your too big to fit between the lateral support.

Thanks for all the help guys.....i'll do a bit more research. I like that calgary company. Thanks cpcP5:cool:

I have Tenzo R Rally, the looks are fabulous, two tone black/grey,
they are reclinable
but pretty costly, however not as expensive as sparco's Torino 2....
to me they look the same but maybe different material and make.
cuz i heard tenzo R seats are made in Taiwan....
and the Rally type's fabric is not the best racing seat fabric...
so beware...

i have the tenzo rally seats and have been on 8 hr drives and they feel as good as the factory. I am about to switch to ractive seats because they are not quite as hard to get in and out of. We have the ractive seats in our STI that we use to advertise our site and i drove it the other day and they were also comfortable

I love my Tenzo Rally-Type Seats (pic in sig). I drive long distances...and absolutely love the feel. my GF also likes it.

The only problem is when we are all dressed up....its not as easy to get in and out of the car. Also...when "guests" first get in and out its a pain.

my gf hates to get in and out of my tenzos when shes wearing a short or tight skirt

tell her to simply "hike" up her skirt all the way up before she gets in! :)

(runs away and hides in fear that I may have insulted him and his GF)

i'm not very comfortable in the tenzo's but my courbeaus are nice, after a month or two they start to form to your ass and back and get more and more comfortable. sparco torino's are good. but honestly unless your like me 6-4 210lbs with no ass. using my judgement might not be best, everyone has diffrent likes and dislikes about what they feel is comfortable to them.

Driving accross country from NY to AZ in my Talon with MOMO racing buckets, I fell asleep and crashed/jumped into a ditch. So I guess they are pretty comfy.
