Anyone with Sparkco Wires please read

Is Sparkco on the up and up? Or is this just an honest mistake. Can someone who has these wires please look at them and tell us all if they say made in USA? They are supossedly made in Canada. Also, please look for the 9.2 designation. Mine, as well as Matt's, say 9.0. What gives? Is this right? Matt and I think something might be up. Can anyone please check there's and let us know.

Thank you.

Patrick.

i have them, i dont feel like looking now b/c its dark, but i remeber from an old post they are made in canada just the wires might be made in the u.s or something, do a search its the thread with a lot of reply's like over 100. the sparko guy explains why they say made in USA as for the 9.0 or 9.2 i cant help you. i would look but i dont feel like taking the valve cover off, maybe this weekend when im playin with my car i will check.

Yes, mine do say 9.0 mm... i dont think a .2 mm would make a difference, but i am NOT pleased that they advertise 9.2mm. Thanks for helping me notice that.

The wires are "made" in Canada.... I am not certain where the components are made--but it is either in the U.S. or Canada.
Also, I will ask what's up with the 9.0mm when they are supposed to be 9.2!!!

Patrick,

Thanks for setting up a seperate post for this ?. I wrote Sparkco when you and I last talked and I still haven't received word. I'm not terribly worried, I'm just wondering why they are advertising something different. Thanks again.

Matt

I think this came up a ways back...the plugs are assembled in Canada with parts from the US, thus the writing on them.
they work great for me, so I could personally care less. If they were crap and/or anything detrimental, then I'd be worried. but the guy there has his stuff together and the parts work well.

Hey Enry, thank you for looking into this for us. As you can see there are some growing concerns.

Thanks again!

Hey Matt howz it goin'? Have you noticed any changes in performance or anything? I have noticed a small increase in the smoothness of acceleration. Also, I have noticed less exhaust fumes early in the morning. My car seem's to stink early in the morning, but since installing these wires, the smell is not that bad. I'm not really all that worried about the 9.0, 9.2 thing either, but like you, I 'am wondering why they don't just say these wires are 9.0 in the advertising to begin with. :wtf:

Have noticed the smoothness and maybe a slightly lower idle. Never really had a stink so for me I can't relate. Some people have noticed improved gas mileage. I'm about to fill up today so I'm going to check that out. Talk with you soon.

Matt

I dont care where there made or what size they are all I care about is that I am happy with them and they work great
9.0 and 9.2 were talking about 0.2 mm here come on relax ppl

thats not the point... cause if mazda came around and said our cars actually only have 125hp, the s*** would hit the fan with most poeple here... and you would never know the difference b/w a 125 and 130 hp engine. If they are 9mm, then advertise 9mm.. not 9.2.

ZiO, well said, er um typed. Yeah, that's it, well typed.:D

Hi guys,

Here is the deal:

1) The core wire itself is made in USA by an ISO9000 manufacturer unlike other wires who also print "Made in USA" but in fact made in Taiwan

2) Assembly is done in Canada

3) The wire itself is 9.0mm, but once we have insert the heat protection sleeve, it becomes 9.2mm. You can measure it if you wish

Hope this clears things up !

allright, i guess that settles everything.... but i have NEVER seen a company add the thickness of the protection sleeve... i like the wires, but give me a break.

Here's the deal. Just received an email from Pete at Sparkco:

"How are you? Thank you for your email. We have closed the office for thelast whole week, because we have to attended the SEMA show in Las Vegas. Sorry to reply your email late.
The core wires are custom made from an ISO9000 company in USA. That's the why the wire "core" itself is print "made in USA". Again, the wire is 9.0mm, but after we insert the heat protection sleeve, it becomes 9.2mm.
Should you have any other question, please feel free to contact us at anytime. Thanks!"

Not to flame or anything but there it a <B><I><U><size=4>HUGE</b></i></u></size> diffrence in .2mm and 5hp. Do you realize how small .2mm is?

what i was trying to say is that yes, .2mm is small. and you would NEVER know the difference b/w 5 hp in your car. GURANTEED. if you notice a 5 hp IN THE ENGINE ,.. NOT WHEEL HORSE POWER, then you, my friend, are Amazing.

Well thank you I am amazing. j/k:D Didn't mean to sound like I was flaming or anthing, just saying you couldn't really compare the two. But I understand now more what you were saying so yeah...:D
