Anyone have problems with MSP Lips

For the past few months I've notice more and more seperation from my stock MSP front and rear lips. My rear has gotten so bad that it has fallen so far down that the bottom is touching the exhaust tip and where it says Mazdaspeed for us 03.5 people you can't even read that anymore. So yesterday I decided to remove them both and see what I could do to fix it. Now I do live in Washington D.C. where the humidity is horrible during the summer time so I thought thats what it might be. So I removed all of the black foam tape and cleaned it off with rapid remover (which you can get from any sign shop) it's better then any goof off or any of that crap and reinstall with 3M VHB Double sided tape. This stuff is industrial strength and I know that it can hold just about anything in place for a long long time. Just wanted to see how many of us out there have had the same problem.

I've had seperation troubles with my front lip... only on the passenger side though, the tape doesn't let the lip go, but it doesn't really keep the lip tight against the body either. I plan to get rid of the lip though eventually, so it doesn't bother me very much. I know people have had trouble with the rear lip coming loose because of the heat from the exhaust, but I would think in your case it's probably the moisture like you had said.

what is a exhaust cutoff w/Electric switch and where did you get your DG Grill

Exhaust Cutout is a side dump connected somewhere on your exhaust or downpipe. It allows you to hit an electric switch and open your exhaust out the side of your car rather than come out the rear of your muffler so it eliminates pressure and gains a decent more HP. Sounds awesome like a drag car when you have it fully open, usually scares the crap out of most honda shitvics when racing. And as far as my DG grill goes I bought it from some one on the site in the sellers forum on here for 100 bux, wasn't a bad deal at all then got some of my friends that work for Mazda to get it painted. Looks damn good especially with eyelids. Some day I'll take pictures and post them.

My rear lip was coming off b.c of the heat from my exhaust. it was only on the right side of it right above the exhaust ......its totally off right now and boy does it look funny lol

well.. rear lip has fallen off 5 times now.. they made a bracket for it now.. but i dont know if just my dealer made it. but it may be a issued mazda part... i will take pics when i get a chance.

Yep I had the dealer fix both front and rear too. They had a hard time taking them off though. It came out good but now in the front corners its separating slightly again. But it was worse before especially the rear near the exhaust.

i had my dealer fix the front and the back.......
they did such a piss-ass job that i had to redoit myself.

2 rolls of 3M tape and 4 hours later i had perfectly mounted front/rear lips.
this was in march.
no seperation yet.

this is the method i used for the front lip, cause it's impossible to line it up perfectly otherwise:

Both front and back are coming off mine. I took it to the dealer and they removed them, replaced the double-sided tape. Now they're coming off again so I went back to the dealer. They are ordering new front and rear lips so now I'm waiting for them to come in.

dealers use cheap-ass foam double-sided tape.
dust and moisture will eventually eat away at tape like that.

u have to use 3M waterproof heavy duty tape.

what u can do is go buy 2 rolls, and just give them to the person who is gonna do your lip.
tell him to use your tape instead of dealer's.

i think it's like $5.00 per roll.
