FS-ZE motor from japan it gives 170 horse which I think is a better platform to build off of if we want to go fast in our cars.

i know a couple of people on the board have this engine. just look around. if you want to buy one try corksport or http://www.jspecjdm.net/ they both sell them. i think last time i checked, corksport had one in stock for about $1800.

you know when it comes to talking to people about american muscle cars you can call the friggin engineers at their hq's but over here when we want to talk to a performance nut about our engines in say our mazdas we have no one to talk to.

This I found out when I called up the us and canadian phone lines.. uhh sorry sir we know nothing about what your asking.. fuq!

only problem with that is they don't just fit in like a honda vtec into an other vtec car

also where on that site are you finding all this stuff about the engine and cams?

Do a search

I heard that you can't get the potential HP out of that engine without the ECU, an the ECu won't fit in our cars, therefore rendering the engine useless.

 *sigh*

I wish people would realize, the FS-ZE IS NOT 170 hp. It is 170ps which translates to 163-165hp...

Yes, yes, yes! Not 170hp. Anyway I got the cams in my FS-DE. I like them a lot.

yea..i was really psyched on getting that motor...but to get that power it means lots of money and not passing emissions..im just going to get j-spec cams and possibly a header...once someone makes a header that works on our car!

Uh hmmm... I have the FS-ZE and it passes VA emissions test with no problems. As for the power...do the math...163hp with 10-15% drivetrain loss = about 130whp which is what Jeremy T dynoed at. 132whp to be exact.

It does bolt in fine but you need to transfer some parts over...

Thats without the ECU

sweeeettttt i was under the impression it wouldn't pass emissions due to some ECU nonsense...wait..you lost 30HP on the transfer? good lord..

Well like I said most cars generally loose 10-15% through the drivetrain. (drivetrain loss) Its normal.
