Anyone else having problems with Probart Mazda in London?

I am starting a crusade for the unethical practices I have experienced...need all the help I can get. Let me know your stories!

I didn't buy my P5 at Probart but have recently moved to London and service my P5 their often. I have had nothing but above average and exceptional service at Probart. I have had regular services done their IE. oil changes etc. and have also had some WARRANTY services their. (WE ALL KNOW HOW HARD THIS CAN BE) I have ran into no problems, knock on wood! I do know that this specific dealer is a STICKLER for performance/upgraded/non-OEM add ons, as are most dealerships. I'm sure some have had bad experiences with this dealership but I for one am impressed with there customer service. What is your beef with Probart.

I am so glad that you have not had to experience what I have. Keep taking it there if they do a great job for you. I just know that they ripped me off big time and called me names I won't repeat (when purchasing a car there, not necessarily for upkeep) after confronting them with certain issues. I was a first time buyer and didn't realize all the questions and stuff to go through, but after telling others about it, all this stuff came out. There are quite a few ppl that I have heard of that have been treated similar to what I have been. It seems that ppl either love em or hate em, no in between. IMO, if they can tell you're new, they will milk it.

I agree with the love em' or hate em', I don't think there is any in-between. I have only dealth with mostly the Service department, (Andrew). Andrew is excellent and very helpfull. I will say one thing, one employee in the Sales department (white male, tall, skinny, balding, glasses) is a prick. I went to Probart when I first moved to London to inquire about possibly trading my P5 in for a new M3. When approached by this employee I was immediately judged and put into the "punk kid with a car he/she didn't pay for" category. When I asked for a simple "ball park figure" on how much my P5 was worth on a trade in, he pretty much looked at me like I was from Mars. So I looked at him like he was from Mars, told him to "**** himself" and walked away from him. Then when I returned their, a few months later, I was dealing with the above mentioned Andrew. I told him that I was impressed to see that not all employees at Probart are like the "salesman from hell". Andrew stated that he was definately a prick and has had complaints loged against him in the past. Andrew then called in a Manager of some sort and quickly explained to him what kind of service I was given in the past. The Manager went directly to the salesmans office and spoke to him. This alone has made me return to Probart for simple things. Not to mention the no hastle Warranty worked they did for me. I am going to inquire about a new clutch and flywheel on my next visit, see how that goes.

I love Probart Mazda

I've had my Mazda 3 for quite some time now and the guys at Probart Mazda are great. My wife loves them because they actually explain things to her that she doesn't understand about cars. Sales guys were great. The tall, bald guy with the glasses is named Steve and seemed extremely knowledgable especially since I'm an enthusiast of cars. I had questions that only he could answer. Other than the mechanics.

It's unfortunate for anyone to have problems but I do know one thing. No car dealership is any different. I've worked at Honda, Nissan and for Pontiac. Each company had a handful of lemon owners. They are a nightmare for dealerships.

Have only dealt with them briefly after recently moving to London. Had a rear tail light changed on the MSP. Done quickly and without grief. However, they did not look under the hood so they didn't get to see all the goodies hiding away under there. I will have to bring it in for an oil change soon so we will see how this goes.

Well , I had been there in late 2005 and early 2006. I was tire kicking at the time and trying to settle on my next vehicle.. got the same attitude that Blake Peanut got.. so screw 'em.. I went to Sarnia to the newest Mazda dealer ( Auto House ) and bought my brand new M5 there. Ther parts dept guys are knowledgable though and I might try go for service there sometime .. althought I did add cruise to the car.

Are you still doing this crusade? We have had a very unpleasant experience with this dealership and started action too. Were you successful? Thanks.

I switched to Strathroy Mazda, purchased a Mazda 3 in the summer from Casey, saved $1500, from Probart's price.

Probart Mazda - Horrible People!!!

I purchased my 2004 Mazda 3 new from them and they were more than happy to take my $26000. Now 5 years later 63000 kms, only 8 days after my warranty expired, they tell me I need a whole new engine put in $2500 at my expense. Mazda Canada basically told me where I could go with my expired warranty and the service manager at Probart was completely useless. I had my own service done at my own mechanics shop with all scheduled maintenance done and was accused of forging all the service records I presented to Mazda. I was given the worst service you could ever imagine and now I am stuck with a 5 year old car that needs a new engine...what a joke! Mazda 3 - biggest piece of crap I ever owned. Probart Mazda - biggest pieces of crap I have ever dealt with!

When dealing with an issue like this you might want to consider calling Mazda Canada directly. If it is true you did all the maintenance on time, you should register your complaint with them, and provide them with proof. You will probably not get very far, but note who you spoke to and what they said. This is where it becomes a little tricky! Do some homework on the internet and try to find the email to the president, CEO, or manager of customer service. Basically as high up as you can find. Put a letter together outlining your issues and the out come and send them an email. I am sure you will get your issue resolved. Some tips; mention that you are a current owner and in this economy the buyer is important. Word of mouth is the best form of product marketing and you will let everyone you know of your issues. Also that this will be your last MAzda unless it is resolved. I have done some searching and maybe this will help. The president of Mazda Canada is Donald Romano. I think his email is dromano@mazdausa.com, but I am only guessing. The hardest part will be finding an email that works. After you contact them, they usually get someone to contact you who has the ability to resolve your situation. Another hint, don"t let your anger dictate your letter. Get your point across without getting rude, be polite, but express your frustration and what outcome you are hoping for.

I have done this several time with other companies. I am a Mazda dealer and it bothers me to hear stories like this. I hope this helps and that you will consider a MAzda in the future if they resolve your situation, if not I am sorry for your experience. Good Luck.

Probart Mazda??

I bought my Mazda3 in 2006 from Probart Mazda. Since then I've had transmission problems at 20 000kms, I've had to change the rotors and breaks, and a 2 year old vehicle with lifetime warranty on rust proof is all rusty on the fenders, and don't even get me started on the customer service at Probart Mazda.WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I had to bring my vehicle for a couple of days at Mazda and because I live in St. Thomas I couldn't even get a ride home. So if you live outside of London or 1km away from Probart Mazda don't bother shopping for a car there. On a scale from 1 to 10 Mazda 3 = 2

The Probart Mazda Dealership = 0

I too have had alot of troubles-took my car in to get the trunk repainted-when I picked up the car-I barely made it home-it was making a huge noise in the front-the next morning they tell me to bring it into the shop-they tell me both wheel bearings on the front are totally shot..yet when I took the car in-it was quiet-not one sound-both wheel bearings do not just go at the exact same time-unless someone hit a speed bump at a fast speed..they would not admit who drove the car off their lot to the paint shop

I did email and call mazda canada and was told there was absolutely not one thing I could do-even tho I did suspect unethical practice
I first confronted the manager-who was new to her job-and just rolled her eyes-then call end owner of the dealership who said he stood 100 percent behind his employees-well I hope he is standing behind them in the unemployment line! I tell everyone/anyone that is even thinking of going there to go to stratford.
Probart mazda sucks

Probart Sales Tricks

I agree with Flyn. I will tell anyone I know to go to Stratford Mazda instead of Probart to buy a car. I can't say much about the service at Probart as we have only been there twice so far and were happy both times. My issue is with the sales tactics. I am so annoyed by them I registered on this site hoping to educate and help others in their future dealings with Probart.

We bought our Mazda 3 from Probart over a year ago and learned from the experience. We traded in a car with the deal. We were told we had a corporate discount. We were then told that the wholesaler was going to give $2000 for our car. Then somehow it became $2000 for car and discount. We should have walked, but we didn't as this was our first car purchasing experience. Later we learned about all of the extras that Probart puts on the car price that you don't need like the VIN etching(scam) and new tire warranty. My guess is that we paid hundreds of dollars more than we should have if we were more informed.

We learned our lesson this time and price shopped Probart and then Stratford Mazda. Casey from Stratford gave us a quote $800 lower than Probart without meeting us. We used the internet quote form on the Stratford mazda website.

Upon visiting, there was still room to bargain. The bargaining atmosphere at Stratford was easy going, and honest. They even completed a simple repair for free while we were there. Would Probart have done that?? Not likely. We bought our last Mazda from Casey at Stratford and left feeling good about our purchase. After both visits to Probart, we felt like we needed a shower. We'll keep you updated if anything changes, but so far we are happy with Stratford and I can't emphasize enough - be very wary of the salespeople at Probart!!!!!
