Anyone else have this problem?

Firstly, I don't drive much. My car hasn't even hit 19,000 miles yet. I drive to school and back mostly which is about a 7 minute drive.

Whenever I'm driving, I drive like a grandma, shift between 2-3. Usually around 2.5.

My problem is, whenever I'm at a light, someone wants to race me. And i hate it. I don't want to. All these kids in their hondas and nissan altimas. Anyone else have this problem? How'd you guys get rid of it?

Gas is expensive.

Get a different car? lol

No one ever wants to race me. I'll get the occasional rev from a car going the opposite direction (wtf?)

Usually I accept, then get ready. When the light turns green I either just drive normally or take the turn at the light and hope they speed off and either break something trying like hell for nothing, or hopefully a cop sees it and grabs them. Street racing is not cool. Goto a track. F-ing Hondas.

HAHAHAHAHA I saw a lot more Hondas in Socal.

And now out here on Long Island, NY, it's altimas and hyundais.

this is what you do. you rev up like you're gonna race and when the light turns green, do nothing. its hysterical watching people take off like they're at the drag strip.

and a couple times, i've watched them get pulled over cause of it.

but seriously, you bought a turbo car, it might be slow, but the wing and larger than most other cars stock exhaust, isn't helping you

also, if your car is yellow or orange that yells race me too.

where in LI are you? I'm from Elmont and my brother lives in massapequa

get used to it, I deal with it every....single.....day. the civics, crx's, hell even a ford focus tried me one day with this big ass aftermarket tachometer on his dash THAT WASN'T EVEN HOOKED UP. I just ignore them all or roll up my window. The occasional whoosh from the blow off valve shuts them up whenever I start driving since most of them don't know my car is turbocharged since it is a "protege". Just recently several evo's, srt-4s, and sti's started challenging me. This is an everday event for me but like I said and several others have said, just ignore it and hope they break something or get pulled over. Or even better, get into a wreck.

A lot of it has to do with how you drive. Not saying you drive like an idoit or some jackass starving for attention. I hardly ever get reved at except every now and then my a WRX or NSRT4. You would be surprised at how many people know wtf a mazdaspeed protege is.... I am just about once a month. More people know about these cars then you think.

You're lucky you didn't get a ticket for staging! reving your car at a light is considered staging and a high ass ticket. So always at least look around before you do that... my dumbass cusin did it at night with a cop 3 cars back! lol needless to say he got (idhitit) by the officer
