to the OP... I think you need to trade in. and I'm not talking about the car.

haven't you ever heard of "cheaper to keep her"?

meh, marriage isn't all that bad. depends on what aspect of marriage you're really talking about, some things are better than others.

it's all give and take. i give to her or she takes from me

If your the type that gets really concerned or uptight about money and whos spending this or that, then don't get married. Obviously I don't mean just go spending like crazy if you can't afford it, budget your money, but most couples that I've known that have issues its usually about money!!! So I say enjoy it if you can (drinks)

my gf doesn't b**** about the money i spend on the car or me putting time into it...

she bitches to me about bein on this forum site everytime i go to her house. lol.

oh it's nice to have a GF will WELL OFF parents... no student loans for her... but the only thing she bitches about when it comes to the MSP is how dirty i've been getting lately when working on her... but she aperently likes the smell of oil and grease... extra caricular activities have really picked up since ive been pooring money into the mazda... best part first girl Ive been with since ive owne the MSP that doesnt get jelous, of the car, major win in my book.

but then again she does drive a champion white 350Z FTMFW

Man, Reading some of these posts is depressing. Talk about whipped. I have always been one to believe that in a good relationship both people are devoted to each other, but maintain their own independence and interests. Being controlled is uncool man.

A quick two step solution:

1) Whack the b**** with a shovel!

2) Re-attach balls

Bonus step... hide the body

Sometimes a good relationship is about striving for the same goal which should ultimately be putting your partner ahead of yourself and vice versa. If me getting a $200 mod for my car means things will be tight financially, then I won't get it. My wife would do the same. You always act in the best interest of the person you love. It doesn't matter if you make 100% of the income or 4%. The amount of money you bring in should not determine the power in a relationship IMHO.

It's not about being "controlled" it's about sacrifice and compromise. Just this evening my wife told me she was considering getting a second job because she knows that her working on her masters degree is putting a financial strain on us. She realizes that when she suffers, I suffer and vice versa. I respect her for that. I don't mind our income going towards her school books and fees because I know her getting a masters benefits us both eventually. She does not mind me spending $300 to upgrade my PC because she knows if I bring in $400 on a freelance design job, that cash helps us both.

I might say something is mine and she might say something is hers, but in the end, you gotta be in it together 100%. Fully committed. It's not to say that you lose your identity. My wife still supports and encourages all my nerdy habits (she wanted us to get rockband for a valentines day gift and comes out to Mazda meets with me). It's just that I put her needs first and she does the same for me. In the end, we both win.

Just my 2 cents. I will also venture to say "whacking the b**** with a shovel" is not a way to build a strong relationship. :)
