Anyone Dynamat their msp?

WARNING - Don't order from FatMat.com

UPDATE 05-12-04: Today I received the product I ordered, but because the company can not be contacted by phone or email, I still do not recommend anyone purchase from them. Buyer beware.

------------------
Just to warn everyone, if you are considering placing an order with www.fatmat.com for sound deadening material, don't bother. They will only take your money and you'll never hear from them again. Via phone they will hang up on you and you won't get a reply to your email. Now I have to go through the trouble of disputing the charge with Visa to get my money back. I have filed a complaint against them to the BBB.

If you run across these guys, stay far away:

i'm not gonna read through all this, but i'll put in my 2 pennies.

dynamat is a great product for dampening sheet metal, which is all it's really designed to do. that means that it reduces vibrations, but doesn't offer much in the way of noise reduction. if you want noise reduction, a closed cell foam is prefered for in doors, and carpet padding/insulation will work fine for the floor. if your goal is to reduce road noise, get something that blocks noise, not something that prevents sheet metal from vibrating.

www.selectproducts.com has cheaper stuff
www.mcmasters.com has cheaper stuff (do a search for high temp mastic) this is what dynamat is.

www.bquiet.com has cheaper stuff then dynamat

use a heat gun to put it on to get the most out of it. this stuff is more for keeping vibrations down then keeping out road noise, if u want to keep out road noise, find some sound absorbtion material for under the carpet.

this stuff is like anything else though, the more u use the quieter things will become wich is a good thing, i used over 300 sq. ft. of it in my funfire.

www.cascadeaudio.com
V blok - better than dynamat (bike)
dynamat is asphalt ....smells ...cascade is vinyl no stink and easy stick,,,

it is really awsome to help prevent rattles -- its not the best at road noise but since i used so much it did help in that area too ----

Keep in mind **** it adds alot if wieght if you lose alot --- so if your into quickness then you might not want to use alot ---

Haha the only reason I'd be using it is to quiet the road noise, but then again I wouldn't even know where to put it. Does it look ugly when you put it in? Or do you put it in concealed places?

super job! Focals - does your window go down completely?
