I have Photoshop 4, full version (and no idea how to use 99% of it).
its not about the equipment. altspace is a great example of what can be done... and I still don't have quite $700 into my kit. I'm not trying to be a snot, but theres a difference between a snapshot, and photography. like most things in life, its the operator, not the equipment that makes the greatest difference.
I absolutely agree, i've got a long way to go to be anywhere near where most of you are, but through the feedback I've gotten I've already improved a lot of things I was doing wrong. I'm not trying to be an ass, I say this because he was talking about going into photography professionally. If you want to get better, you need to know where you're at compared to where you're trying to go.Calm down. Your pictures aren't much better. Not trying to be a jerk...

if this were a photography forum, someone woulda come strait out and said "don't post that s*** here"... I wasn't aware I was saying something "not nice"...He probably doesn't need you to tell him where he's at though. It all goes back to "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything."
Tell him its underexposed, or to frame the cars differently. Or hey, maybe try the same shot but do it this way.
Ive learned alot just from reading others criticism and suggestions on this and other forums. Any little bit helps.

exactly. Calling someone's pictures "snapshots" doesn't do him any good, and it makes you look like an internet tough guy.
This is like when you first got your car you did not know s*** about working on your car but you learn after a while and got better at it. That's me with my camera.
absolutely, and I'd say if you came in here with a riced out, horribly modded car you be flamed, and I doubt anyone would come to your rescue. I was not intending to offend. If I did so I apologize. My point was merely that to come out with a better picture, you need to put more thought into it. thats where I started... stop taking shots of whats in front of you from wherever it is that you are, and think about how you want to make the pic look, control what you can to get it to look that way. This is like when you first got your car you did not know s*** about working on your car but you learn after a while and got better at it. yeah i hear a lotta ppl with focusing issues with the 50mm 1.8, i think its just a bad copy of the lens
